Rachel Maddow takes Tweety to town again....
He's talkin' about how it's vanity that keeps anything from getting done in D.C. He says it's about jealousy...blah, blah, blah.

Rachel tells Tweety it's a matter of having someone there who knocks heads together that gets things done such as health insurance and so on. Tweety looked none too happy.

Keith went to commercial which gave Rachel the last word. :)

Gonna email MSNBC to tell them how much I enjoy Rachel.

1. Rachel is a smarty pants. I really like her.
She has a great mind, and she is a good listen. Tweety is no match.

Every day she's on the radio I learn something new. Her PhD in Political Science really showed Tweety up on TV tonight.

we make them all look like such dumb asses.

5. Don't you just get the feeling she'd like to reach through the
split-screen and whack his and Buchanan's heads together just like Moe would always do to Curly & Larry in the Three Stooges shorts?

6. Tweety is a twit and has
a major insecurity issues with women and men that
are smarter than him. If you ever saw him on the Daily Show
with Jon, he also used his height as a intimidation issue.
He did the same heightist bullshit on Colbert.

It is the issue he has with all women that I find psychologically disturbing

Rachel is just so great, and is a foil that turns him into a busted egotistical ballon.

Tucker Carlson had to take a pay cut, and Joe Scarborough's working the graveyard shift!

21. Katrina Vanden Huevel tears him up whenever she's on...
Tweety's a gasbag, Katrina bowls right over him, doesn't let him do his rude lip-flap gabfest gig.

14. I'm so proud of her (as if I had anything to do with it.)
She is so smart, so composed and she looks good, too. It's very refreshing to see her get the panel time with the boyz on MSNBC. Alas, I fear she will outgrow AAR and we'll no longer get to enjoy her irreverent joy and benefit from her mixologist tips.

I was contemplating sending her a fan email, but this will have to do.

If Eleanor Clift ever vacates her chair on the Mclaughlin Group, it better be filled by Rachel.

15. Matthews does not like Maddow on MSNBC.
And it shows. He didn't take too kindly to having his weighty observations challenged. He's used to Nora O'Donnell and the like praising him to high heaven and treating him like the political god he is (in his mind). There's rumours swirling about his letting it be known he doesn't go for a show for her, especially when Tucker is being shown the door.

Needless to say, the members of the MSNBC He-Man Woman Haters Club are NOT happy with seeing their little mascot Tucky about to be wished into the cornfield. The slimy Joe Scarborough is supposedly all pissy about it, and the pan-faced lout Chris Matthews is openly angry about it, as it indicates a further shift from his “Playboy Club—but no icky girllllz unless they're in bunny suits!” idea of a network. Deep in his mayonnaise-clogged gut, you know it ain't just her progressive status gnawing at him. Her also being an out, proud and very telegenic lesbian really flies in the face of his archaic template for cable news punditry.

Note how dismissive and pissy he gets with her in this post-pilot segment from last week when she dares take a slightly snarky, but truthful opinion he doesn't want to even hear:

http://www.groupnewsblog.net/2007/12/dish.html

Matthews was pathetic tonight. Even Buchanan was more coherent.

16. Prediction:
Rachel will get her own show on MSNBC in late winter/early spring of 2009. Why then? It will be after the election of a Dem president and it will be perceived as "safer" to put an open, unabashed and proud lesbian on TV.

Yes, I know that it is shallow reasoning...*sigh*... but we are talking decisions made by TV execs here, and no more shallow creatures walk the earth.

I also predict that 5 years after that, she is going to be one of the most important political commentators and analysts in the US. As if she isn't, in truth, already.

19. I loved it when asked if he had seen a Chuck Norris film
after she revealed that she did in order to play clips, then twitty said;
oh, no, not me and

His eyes diverted and he lowered his head.....it was classic.

what she said Chris would object. I think the other posters in this thread are right about her unnerving him.
