Bill O'Reilly on Oprah " his crusade against pedophiles "
Just heard that "BillO" will be on Oprah to promote his crusade to keep pedophiles in jail. I wonder if she knows what he said about that boy being held captive a few weeks ago. He is such a hypocrite. I am going to write and protest his being portrayed as a good guy on this subject. He has shown contempt for the victim by saying that that child wanted to be there or he would have left.

33. Castrate all LoofahOphiles !!!
They are as deranged and deviant as the Felafelphiles !

And both perverions are exclusively republicon !!!

Only a really sick republicon type would get his perverted sexual jollies
with felafel, wouldn't you agree, Mr. Chickenhawk O'Reilly?

3. I honestly suspect that any 'dislike' he has for pedophiles...
...is because he views them as COMPETITION.

He's a PROVEN sexual harasser, he shows the world nightly
that he's got some very twisted power/control issues, and
his statements on that kidnapping case sounded like he was
paraphrasing an official press release from NAMBLA.

The guy just SCREAMS 'molestor' to me, on many levels.

5. I said this years ago
I told my husband that he gave me the creeps long before his phone message incident. There has always been that strange look in his eyes an spit seems to gather in the corners of his lips when he talked about anything sexual.

17. O'Reilly's ratings have been suffering. He's been making the tours...
... attempting to tread water. I guessing that his demographic is diminishing because of "attritition" (ie, going to their great reward) and, more importanly, growing weary of his tired routine.

7. Oprah had that boy on her show
And, from everything I've read, commiserated with him, as she herself was the victim of lon-term sexual abuse by relatives. I don't know why she's having him of her show, but I hope she calls him on this. Oprah has been very vocal about rights and protection for child abuse victims.

11. When and where did he "actually" say that?
Edited on Wed Feb-21-07 12:55 PM by dicksteele
Because he ACTUALLY said this on his show on Jan 15th. 2007:

All right, you know, the Stockholm syndrome thing,
I don't buy it. I've never bought it. I didn't think
it happened in the Patty Hearst case. I don't think it
happened here.

<...>

O'REILLY: I'm not buying this. If you're 11 years old or
12 years old, 13, and you have a strong bond with your family,
OK, even if the guy threatens you, this and that, you're riding
your bike around, you got friends. The kid didn't go to school.
There's all kinds of stuff. If you can get away, you get away.
All right? If you're 11.

<...>

O'REILLY: This is what I believe happened in the Hearst case
and in this case. The situation that Hearst found herself in
was exciting. She had a boring life. She was a child of privilege.
All of a sudden, she's in with a bunch of charismatic thugs,
and she enjoyed it. The situation here for this kid looks to me
to be a lot more fun than what he had under his old parents.
He didn't have to go to school. He could run around and do whatever he wanted.

Shithead, but he said just yesterday when I listened to him during my commute that the boys were tortured into staying. I don't know (and doubt) that there has ever been a mea culpa for his statements in January, but he is not saying that anymore.

I hate billyboy, but I do agree with much of what he has to say about pedophiles.

On the January 15 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor, host Bill O'Reilly said of Shawn Hornbeck -- who was abducted at the age of 11, held for four years, and recently found in Missouri -- that "there was an element here that this kid liked about this circumstances" and that he "do(esn't) buy" "the Stockholm syndrome thing." O'Reilly also said: "The situation here for this kid looks to me to be a lot more fun than what he had under his old parents. He didn't have to go to school. He could run around and do whatever he wanted." When fellow Fox News host Greta Van Susteren pointed out that "some kids like school," O'Reilly replied: "Well, I don't believe this kid did."

19. I was upset when I heard Oprah was having O'Reilly on.
So I went to her website to write her a letter and it says that she's also going to have on a man who is explaining why he didn't run when it happened to him as a young teenager. So that's good.

I'm still writing her. I don't know when the show was taped, but I'd still like her to hear my opinion on the subject.

36. I hate to do this
but O'Reilly has changed his tune on the Hornbeck case.

From his article about his appearance on Oprah

What happened to Shawn Hornbeck and thousands of other kids is called "child sexual abuse accommodation syndrome." That is, the child is literally tortured into accepting his circumstance. This is so evil, it's almost beyond comprehension. The guy who did this to Shawn Hornbeck, Michael Devlin, doesn't deserve to live another day in this world. -- That's how evil the man is.

"Talking Points" is not going to report specifics about the Devlin case. I'm going leave that to the authorities. But everybody should know this is beyond horrifying. And no rehab should ever be in play.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,253367,00.html

I have no idea if he apologized for his original comments (doubt it).

41. So.What.
He's a grown man who has been in the news business his entire life. Nobody that old needs to be educated on the trauma caused by abuse. He said what he said because he's an idiot. Changing his tune now is because of the reaction, not because he was suddenly educated to something that wasn't commonly known before. The man really ought to be fired. There was a time when he would have been, he and Limbaugh both.
