C'mon objectively now...Edwards won this debate by a mile...
Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 11:20 PM by Orwellian_Ghost
I'm not pushin' Edwards, not suggesting anyone consider one debate to be some landmark event but he was easily the most straightforward clear thinking and clear speaking individual on the stage.

And thanks Mr. Edwards for mentioning homeless vets.

Sorry folks but as far as I can tell Obama is just a walking platitude, a figurine. I'm the last person to give kudo's to Hillary but even she fared much better than Obama IMHO.

My two cents.

Edit: Icky grammar

8. Sorry
for the hackneyed sports metaphor.

I'm not peddlin' anything for anyone but objectively the guy was much more astute than the others.

2. I said that nearly exactly during the debate. He was the only one I could
understand or relate to.. the only one who made me cheer for the "change" we keep hearing about. He'll do it, by damn.

9. I'll admit I didn't see the debate
I'm TV deficient (choicefully so) and I got up late (I work nights) so I didn't get around to seeing if it was streaming. That said, not a whole lot about Presidential campaigns is objective. I'm just saying.

PS I just picked my horse for sure last evening. I'm glad that he subjectively won the debate tonight. That rocks!

14. He was really good, must have been that run he had this afternoon.
He was enthusiastic and on target - the others seemed tired.

15. I'm for Edwards.
He did very well tonight. But I think the big three all did very well, actually. Obama was serious and to the point, to counteract the notion that he is a lightweight. Clinton was personable and passionate and detail-oriented. She brought up points about troop withdrawal indicating that there's many things to think about when planning. I could live with a Clinton Presidency. A few weeks ago, I wasn't so sure how I would feel about it. They all did well.

16. I agree that Edwards won, but
I disagree about Obama. I felt he did fine and he did offer specifics from time to time. Clinton did fine as well, but much better than Obama? Meh.

17. Nothing new from Edwards
His strategy now is to try to take second in New Hampshire, hope that knocks Hillary out of serious contention, then make it a two man race against Obama, then beat Obama somehow.

I don't think he did enough damage to Hillary tonight. If she had been more negative she could have hurt herself but she kept limits on it.

Edwards needed a knock out and he didn't get it.

18. Edwards sucked the life out of Obama, especially evident
by the circumstance of their sitting next to each other. I believe the "change" voters of NH are going to go for Edwards, not Obama, thus, perhaps, helping Hillary.

19. Plus his Green/Energy initiatives are
way more progressive than Obama's - especially in the area of using nuclear power. The people of NH are going to respond positively to that.
