The general election MUST be held on a Sunday !
The voting on weekdays has to stop. A major disatvantage for the underpriviledged working class !

1. Or we could have Election Day be declared a national holiday.

Give everyone the day off to vote.

Of course, that won't help people working in McJobs too much - they're always asked to work holidays. :( But in that case, neither will moving Election day to a weekend.

6. I'd prefer that to people piling in churches on sunday's to vote.
My super ultra fundy uncle's church hosts voting. I feel like I'm going to burn in hell everytime he looks at me, so much so that I moved away from my family for many years to stay away from his evil and condemning preaching. If I was a voter in his district, I wouldn't even want to step foot in the church to vote - let alone on a sunday.

3. don't many of the underpriviledged working class work on Sundays too?
Not that you don't have a point. Obviously a greater percentage of people don't work on Sundays (or even Saturdays) but my guess is that those who do work on Sundays are probably more or less service employees who probably represent to a large degree the underpriviledged working class.

5. Actually - how about Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon - why do we have just one day to pick a leader?
Someone said to me "yeah - well that will give the Republican criminals four days to steal votes instead of just one".

I thought about that for a second.
My conclusion was that will give us four days to catch them in the act as well.

But seriously, we need to change the way we vote in this country.
