Another reason MSM ignores Edwards: blowout in the General
In national polls John Edwards literally destroys the Republican competition in every pairing. He would win in a landslide. MSM wants a tight race because it's good for business - it attracts eyeballs and advertising revenue.

BO-McCain 48-48
HRC-McCain 48-50

JE-Romney 59-37

JE-Giuliani 53-44
BO-Giuliani 52-45
HRC-Giuliani 51-45

2. The only criteria I have this time around is I want a President who will listen to what we say
I believe John Edwards will do that, I'm not so sure about the others. If the next President will listen to the American people concerning his decisions this country can be the country we all dream we want it to be, what it can be, its as simple as that to me.
when people are informed about something they almost if not all the time make the right decisions and that's what the presidents job is, is to listen to us

3. We must resist our corporate overlords
We need a president who will do what is best for the common good, not best for his/her biggest donors.

I see John Edwards as someone who can get to work on that right away. I see Barack Obama as someone who is charismatic enough to pave the way for a lasting electoral realignment that moves the center to the left.

Supporting both change candidates requires a lot of hope and a little magic.

6. Where's Huckabee?
P.S. I'd also have to ask, if this analysis of the MSM is on target, why aren't they shilling for McCain non-stop and ignoring Romney and Giuliani?

As much as I believe that the MSM is becoming consolidated and has their own agenda with regard to the election, I have to say that I really don't think that having a nice, tight race in the GE is their current focus.

7. Consequently, this is probably in part due to his campaign winning limited media attention
Edited on Sun Jan-06-08 06:35 PM by tritsofme
In polls he serves as a "generic" Democrat since he does not get the same level of scrutiny on his every move as Hillary and Obama do.

If Edwards is the nominee, he will come under much greater fire and those numbers will undoubtedly tighten before the general.

9. Exactly.
The corporate media is tightly involved in determining outcome.

Bleh!

They thrive on providing the "race" towards the top. It means $$$$$ in the pockets of their handlers. That explains the microcosm. The macrocosm, I am convinced, relates to the Rothchilds, Rockafellers, big banking and corporate interest. Sorry, but the MSM is just another rung on the authoritarians ladder of control.

I will support JE, so far, no doubt

10. A tight race will be a stolen race. Remember 2000.

12. Remember 2000? How about remembering 2004? That was far tighter...
And, by design....yes, its far easier to shift some votes or effect it if its perceived as close....That is also why in 2006, we took back Congress. The turn out was so massive, that it was nearly impossible for them to have successfully stolen seats or disenfranchised as many voters.

I consider 2000 to have been the "selection" theft and 2004 to have been the real theft...I saw first hand what happened in Ohio...I will never forget...
