Am I the only one uncommitted to a particular Democrat?
Edited on Sun Jan-06-08 02:17 PM by BlackVelvet04
How to choose? I don't want to choose based on who I "like". Who is best for the country?

Clinton ......experienced and smart.

Obama........able to draw in the young vote, electrifying (and yes, smart, too)

Edwards......a fighter, passionate and smart.

I will support any of the three should they be the nominee but who is best to be the nominee?

4. I listen to Hillary and like much of what I hear,
then I listen to Obama and like what I hear, then Edwards and like what I hear. I really want to support the person who is best for the country right now.

Obama seems to want to bring the country together and has a "can't we all just get along attitude" and maybe that's what we need. I'm honest enough to admit I don't really want to make nice with republicans but maybe it's time for the good of the country????

Edwards wants to fight corporations and I strongly agree with that position.

Clinton does have the experience to know the ins and outs.

ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHH

47. Go with who you think has the best chance to WIN
Since you like them all - look at the demographics.

IMO, Edwards is the most likely to win across regions, socio-economic groups, and among indies and blue dog Dems. Obama could win with a HUGE turnout of new voters and an unprecedented among of young voters showing up (maybe possible, look at IA).

Hillary --- can't win. Period. Way too polarizing and I know hardly anyone in my Dem circle that wants her.

We aren't running dumb fluffy bunnies on our slate.

The media is going with the rock star. Really hard to fight the momentum once they anoint their choice.

Judging by the credentials Obama's fans have been touting here today, I don't begin to think he's ready for the job. I also don't love how his people have behaved about his winning, but that's not him...exactly. Still, anyone can be charming and delightful in victory. What we haven't seen, and I need to see, is how he behaves in crushing defeat. When I talk about experience, that's really what I mean. What is he when he isn't golden?

You by no means are the only one. I haven't decided which of the big three to support. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on the perspective, I live in a small red state that doesn't select candidates until Feb. 5 and the race will almost assuredly be over by then (or it will be regardless of who I support that day).

from here on out. I would really prefer not to have Hillary be our nominee, and I don't think Edwards has the donors and organization to beat her on his own.
I also don't like the weakness Edwards would have in the G.E. because he opted for public financing.

not because of some principled stance. Plus, are the people who think is is cool going to outnumber the people who buy the BS the GOP will be pumping on the airwaves for months, while Edwards doesn't have the money to fight back? He is undeniably crippled for a few months.

30. Welcome to the club!
My work and home life have been insane and last night's debate was the first one I was able to catch. I have always admired and supported Edwards--his passion really came through last night, I thought. I know very little of Obama and I plan to "read up" on him and his positions, but he came off as very cerebral last night (Not that that is bad! I just think we need some of Edwards' passion right now!). My sister in Kentucky supports Obama--she got to hear his wife speak and was VERY impressed. Clinton, well, she has always struck me as a Diane Feinstein type--way too conservative in many respects. I was also very impressed with Richardson--I truly believe we need him as part of a Democratic administration again to attack issues like energy and rebuilding U.S. diplomacy. I have to say, though, it's a pretty impressive Democratic field and I'm very excited to play a part in choosing our candidate!

Peace...

Beyond that, I will vote for the Democratic candidate in the general, but none have captured my imagination as Clark did in 2004.

35. I'm right with you.
I like all three of them for exactly your reasons. If we could only put all three candidates together to form a super candidate.

I've gone from favoring Clinton (like her progressive voting record -- hate that she's a corporate candidate and voted for the war). Then Obama caught my attention with all of the energy and enthusiasm of the Kennedy's. The past few days Edwards has impressed me with his attacks on corporate America and his passion for the poor and middle class. He actually has brought a few tears to my eyes.

After watching all the debates, including last nights, I am more and more convinced that the Republican field is weak in comparison by a long shot.

I personally can't wait until the primaries are over and we have a definitive candidate.

41. My choice is none of the above, with
Hillary falling past last place as who to vote for to run this country. I keep hearing Hillary is a centralest. No, she is not. She is farther to the right of center than Bill is. Hillary is a DINO, pure and simple. For the war - that alone should be enough to eliminate her from contention. Her Health Care plan? What really changes? Hillary is a place holder for the return to power of the so called Republicans in 2012. Ron Paul is a better choice.

We need someone to stop the war. We need someone to get the insurance companies out of the Health Care decision making business. We need someone to get our manufacturing industries and jobs back into this country. We need to start breaking up the big business monopolies. We need someone to stop the frankinfoods nightmare before it contaminates and destroys everything beyond recovery. We need to roust the criminals that got us, U.S. into this mess in the first place and try them for their War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity. AND put them all away for life! No pardons, no reprieves. Keep them out of circulation forever, period.

Anyone that advocates the above and is also a strong or even a good leader? Nobody that I can think of. Where are they?
Again, I'll hold my nose this election cycle and vote for the least of the incompetent and/or evils running.

The good people don't have much of a chance to get elected because the rest of us do not bother to get informed about the candidates and what they stand for. We vote with our emotions, not with our intellect. Can't decide between Hillary, Obama and Edwards as some here advocate? Give me a break already. The are as different as night and day.
