Huffington Censored My Post – No Iraq Allowed (unpleasant)

So I go on Huffington Post (which I like) to check things out and I see this puff piece for Hillary -
Hillary's Cavalry Rides to the Rescue.

This crap astounds me – we have real issues and all the media covers is "inside baseball." But I figure
the "Calvary" opens up a military theme so I post the following. It never occurred to me that they
wouldn't run it, never but I did a screen shot anyway.

That was yesterday. It's today at 3:06 pm EDT. Other posts have come on line but there's one thing for
sure:

They can't stand the truth!!! At least we know it's not just MSM that has an Iraq blackout.

SHAME ON ALL THE MEDIA & CANDIDATES FOR IGNORING THE BIG ISSUES, MATTERS OF LIFE AND DEATH.
And I'm MAINSTREAM on the issue - Oppose war - 68%

Dear Media and Presidential Campaigns:

:)Have a nice day:)

Hope you don't have to think of anything unpleasant, anything that might make you upset...
like... (see sign line)

6. Orwell never fails to come through.
This was such a minor post on a thread that was clearly a puff piece for the Hillary campaign.

They can have their "inside baseball" puff pieces but Lard, let us try to interject some reality.

I understand I'm supposed to start having "hope," so I'll work on it.

22. The Huffington Post is as anti-Hillary a site as they come.
Edited on Sun Jan-06-08 04:49 PM by tblue37
I am an Edwards supporter, and I fervently hope Hillary is not our nominee, because I think her high negatives would cost us not only the presidency but many other downticket races. But I am appalled at the way HuffPost piles onto Hillary. I guarantee they would not censor an anti-Hillary post.

On the other hand, I don't care who our nominee is--I will support him or her all the way. Hillary would be a good president, and so would any of the other Dem candidates--including Biden or Dodd, even though they have dropped out of the race!

would censor an anti-Hillary post. They hate Hillary.

The last time I tried to post there was when their resident psychologist blogger referred to the effort of raising a hearing-impaired child as a terrible burden and commented that a child with hearing impairment was a "broken" child.

I have a severe hearing impairment and though it is progressive, so it is worse now that I am 57 than it was when I was young, nevertheless, I had a hearing impairment even when I was in grade school.

Yet somehow, "broken" as I was (and such a burden!) I managed to make straight A's all through school (including college) and to become both an effective teacher of college English and a very well-known internet writer with a worldwide readership in the millions. I have ten public websites, with over 450 articles spread across them, and another 150 articles that I have sold as web content. I also know several deaf/HoH people who are very talented and successful. We are not necessarily helpless, useless losers, as that blog post implied hearing-impaired children are bound to be!

I mentioned my shock at her remark in a comment on her blog post and said I was sure that other deaf/HoH* people and families of deaf/HoH people would not agree with her assessment.

Not only did they not post my comment, they also did not post a later comment I made about their not posting that comment. Now I just don't waste my time trying to comment on their articles, especially when I see the often mindless blather and "so are you" name-calling they do allow to show up in the comments.

*HoH = Hard of Hearing

37. Good for you. That comment reflects so poorly on the writer.

Many years ago, I had the pleasure of helping students at Gallaudet University get the word out on
a strike or some major action they were having to protest, I believe, a new president who was not
HoH. They were customers of an online service I was working with. That was my introduction to
the HoH world. It was quite an effort and I learned a lot in the process. The remark is not only
rude and offensive, it's wring.

17. I've just emailed BBC24, berating them for their non-coverage of the real news,
namely that JE came second, beating HC; although a public-service channel, prefering to mimic the perjurious, privatised US MSM.

Instead, they have preferred to concentrate their coverage on the politicians' fatuous tool for influencing public opinion, the polls, in this case relating to the candidates' putative popularity in relation to the NH Primary.

How can we cheer Hill along with boundless enthusiasm if we stop and think about the results of her IWR vote?

Don't you think we should censor the bad boy commentary?

Don't you think we should bury the messenger?

As consolation, though, you hold the key to the second most viewed series of articles on all of Scoop.

I seem to remember it being for your over all work, but maybe it was for the original piece on the numbers of civilian dead in Iraq (which became "I see dead people" here on DU)

38. Maybe if you fudged the numbers a little...
made them look more, well, easier to take. The numbers you have listed there are just too high and may make their readers feel like, well, they are not doing enough to stop the killings. Or maybe the readers are focusing on less important things but the kind of things that bring readers coming back again and again ... like gossip re whether or not Hilary is shrill or did Obama's lobbyist lie or that pesky Edwards who is too much into that fighting thing. :)

Keep up the good work, Mike. Truth will OUT.
