My point #4: Obama represents a true break from the past
The rise of George W. Bush was caused by the disastrous decisions to nominate Al Gore and John Kerry. Neither of them possessed the charisma and stage presence required for a successful presidential candidate.

Al Gore is a good man and Obama should hire him as his environmental aide. However, Gore's candidacy was just a continuation of the Clinton administration and Americans were plain tired of it. Similarly, John Kerry did serve our country but he lacked the ability to energize voters and the acumen to seize the moment (for example, he refused to deflect the Swift Boat attacks). Kerry was just another boring candidate after the boring Gore. Obama is none of the above. He is the real new deal.

Obama represents the future of America. He speaks to the young and they understand his call for change and break away from the past.

And the media hated Gore and Kerry.

Please go to bed or something.

You're becoming more than a bit of a bore. :eyes:

3. Wow, that's just dumb. I'm sorry.
1) The disastrous decisions to nominate Al Gore
2) Neither of them possessed the charisma and stage presence required

You're pointing to a nobel prize winner and calling him a disaster, while stating that the alternative, to which he should be compared, should be nominated on the basis of his "stage presence".

6. Al Gore was not "a disaster."
Al Gore WON. He won the popular vote and he would have won the electoral vote if not for 99 flavors of proven cheating. Even then, he still didn't lose in the traditional sense. He had to be removed from the race by a completely partisan SCOTUS decision to install Der Chimpenfuhrer.

You do know that this is counterproductive, right? -- Unless you really want even people who like Obama, even if he is not their candidate (yet), to start hating him? As they say, with supporters like that...

Joementum, yeah, what a bozo idea.

But Al Gore won.
Kerry?

But as far as that goes, all three of them were Senators.
And again, please be specific on how this change will be wrought, and for whose benefit?

15. BUT....What is his view on haggis?
Fair is your honest happy face
Great chieftain of the pudding race
Above them all you take your place
Stomach, tripe or guts
Well are you worthy of a grace
As long as my arm

The groaning platter there you fill
Your buttocks like a distant hill
Your skewer would help to repair a mill
In time of need
While through your pores the juices emerge
Like amber beads

His knife having seen hard labour wipes
And cuts you up with great skill
Digging into your gushing insides bright
Like any ditch
And then oh what a glorious sight
Warm steaming, rich

Then spoon for spoon
They stretch and strive
Devil take the last man, on they drive
Until all their well swollen bellies
Are bent like drums
Then, the old gent most likely to rift (burp)
Be thanked, mumbles

Is there that over his French Ragout
Or olio that would sicken a pig
Or fricassee would make her vomit
With perfect disgust
Looks down with a sneering scornful opinion
On such a dinner

Poor devil, see him over his trash
As week as a withered rush (reed)
His spindle-shank a good whiplash
His clenched fist.the size of a nut.
Through a bloody flood and battle field to dash
Oh how unfit

But take note of the strong haggis fed Scot
The trembling earth resounds his tread
Clasped in his large fist a blade
He'll make it whistle
And legs and arms and heads he will cut off
Like the tops of thistles

You powers who make mankind your care
And dish them out their meals
Old Scotland wants no watery food
That splashes in dishes
But if you wish her grateful prayer
Give her a haggis!

16. Oh, you're so ON IT!!!
"However, Gore's candidacy was just a continuation of the Clinton administration and Americans were plain tired of it."

Exactly. People were just plain tired of peace, prosperity, a president who polished our image around the world - ya know, a duly elected president who was greeted everywhere with cheers instead of burning effigies of himself. An articulate speaker, well-educated, well-informed, and - well, you get the rest of the boring picture. Where Clinton really blew it, IMHO, was turning that Poppy Bush deficit into a surplus.

As you say, people were just plain tired of it. What they craved was an idiot who couldn't put two words together without a mis-pronouncing at least one of them, a former businessman who had proven his ability to consistently fail, a Decider Guy whose greatest academic achievement was being a college cheerleader, a 'dry' drunk who would spend a huge portion of his time in office on vacation getting 'wet' again -- and if he could look the other way while the country was attacked, and then declare war on the country that DIDN'T attack us, lie, cheat, steal AND RUN UP THE BIGGEST NATIONAL DEBT IN US HISTORY, the people would be ecstatic!!!

Yuppers, people were just plain tired of it.

Now, why don't you toodle on home and tell all of your friends how far you got ...

27. Hi. Gore had the Presidency stolen from him. It's a fact. He won.
People weren't "tired" of the good times we were having, they were robbed of their true choice.

Right now the only good thing to come out of that debacle is that we are not pushing Lieberman for President.
