Imagine a school age child learning what a president is, and that president is named Obama
Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 03:18 PM by RiverStone
Imagine a country where a child's very first civics lesson introduces them to President Obama.

Compare that to all the students over the past 8 years who have been exposed to a BushCo kind of presidency. Learning about the war mongering, arrogant, exclusionary, secretive, power hungry bastards that they are...

Imagine a child reading the words of a president that are actually intelligent, inclusive, and out there for the people. Imagine that child growing to embrace our government, not fear or despise it.

Edwards would rock too! I'm just having an Obama moment.

And I'm thinking how damn good it will be to have a president and administration that rules with compassion and reason, not fear and stupidity.

That's what I call a civics lesson! :)

2. As a child, I remember Kennedy
and his "Ask not what you can do for your country" speech. He made me interested in politics. He made me care what happened to this country. Today's children haven't had the inspiration we Boomers had.

4. I have a 2 1/2 year old - I so hope his formative years are filled with peace
Peace & Prosperity. Equality & Hope. I would like nothing more than to have the next 8 years of his life filled with things under a Democratic President that is intelligent and compassionate, reasonable and fair.

On the Obama side, that would be something indeed! Maybe we'll inch just a little closer to equality and unity if it happens.
