It's as though Cicero rode in on an independent pony, somehow wooed a plurality of their votes, and then bored them to sleep with his victory speech.

Is it just me or was his speech the worst possible thing he could have said? He READ it with his head down the entire time. Not only that, the language and message was completely inaccessible to the average voter, especially the average bonehead Freeper ("McCAIN won, THIS IS. HUUUUGH!!!1! But, uh, scratch head, I don't know what the word 'plurality' actually means.... Cicer-who now???")

How awful for him. I pity him after watching that. He's an American hero - a man of respectable life experiences, and he won a damn important election. Sooooo that's what he says to a VICTORY RALLY of his supporters? He's a smart guy, and he knows better than to do that kind of ill-advised amateur crap.

Just awful...

More proof that the Democratic Party is the Party of inspiration, hope and ideas--as our top three finishers all looked and sounded like winners

3. His entire message is "I'm the Great McCain" - his appeal has nothing to do with...
his positions on any given issue. He's a terrible speaker and a lukewarm campaigner. His reputation is his calling card. McCain is so used to Imus and Matthews and Barnicle and Russert and Mitchell telling him how great he is that at this point he actually believes it. The problem is much of the country belives it too.
