Most folks I know aren't well-informed about issues and candidate's positions
I rarely find someone who is basing their vote on an issue and can tell me the ins and outs of the candidate's stances on that issue. Fact, seems to be, that many folks are swayed by small things they've heard or perceive about these candidates or their party. It's really no secret that most voters get their information from these media sources who have a limited perspective or some particular bias. Sometimes their perspective comes from listening to or reading a single source. I sometimes think that the well-informed among us here on this political board forget that. The media and the campaigns don't forget it, though. They know how easily influenced most voters are. I think that many, here, are giving the majority of voters way too much credit for their capacity to make a rational, informed judgment about these candidates; not the, mostly, well-informed folks here at DU and on the web, but the majority of Americans who will weigh in on election day.
