Why Hillary is "inevitable."
In another thread, DUer Maxanne stated the following regarding the NH primary:

"She had the support of the NHDP hierarchy - and they began building." (Please note, this snippet is part of a response in a thread about the NH poll data.)

That one sentence is really key, isn't it? It's what I've been saying all along, that Hillary has The Machine behind her. That Machine includes the super delegates (of which Hillary has more than all the other candidates combined) AND the very real, tangible support of the state Democratic Party apparatus -- just to name two. It renders these primaries and caucuses nothing more than a dog-and-pony show. The reason Hillary is "inevitable" is not because that's what the voters want but because this system is nothing more than the old back-room, deal-making apparatus it's always been. They've just given us the illusion of choice and these primaries and caucuses give us something shiny to watch while the same old wheeling and dealing has been going on all along.

Just my opinion, of course.

2. I do not think 'they' have as much power as you give them.
They may have named the candidate but they could do nothing about our numbers. The masses are awake and they are turning out in record numbers. If 'they' do not hear us ,we will turn up the volume.

3. You don't think there's an entrenched power elite in DC or...
that they have any "power"? Where have you been the last 20 years? Look up the names of the last 3 presidents for gawd's sake. Look at her staff and advisers. Look at her contributors. Look at her votes in the Senate on the Iraq Occupation and the upcoming Iran War.

Hey you jumped on a rolling bandwagon and good for you. I'd like to see a woman as our next president. Just not that woman. I'm tired of Politics As Usual. I want a true Progressive.
