Haley Barbour sworn in as Governor of Mississippi this afternoon
While you all with viable primaries cross swords I thought I'd share the excitement going on in the Magnolia state today. Imagine my joy and happiness.

group dynamic of dust bunnies. They congregate (hide) behind my bathroom door aided by my hair (leg hair I guess cause I ain't got any on my head. Drives my wife crazy but I let them grow for several weeks.

4. Is that why...
tornadoes are hitting in some places? Seriously, hope nobody gets injured down there in that nasty weather!

7. Its been kinda spooky weather wise since noon
down here way south and near Louisiana border. And the weather map shows us getting more nonsense later this evening. The water is appreciated. Can do without "damaging winds, hail and possible tornadic activity."

9. I'm so damn happy I could just f***ing sh*t.
Of course, the alternate was John Arthur Eaves ... so we were screwn either way.

By the way, we had a funnel cloud over The Stack this afternoon (the intersection of I-20 and I-55 in Jackson) but I haven't heard of one touching down, today, anyway. The town of Mendenhall, about 25 miles south of here, got hit a couple of nights ago but I don't think anyone was hurt, fortunately.

Take care, Boss, eyes on the skies.

10. Pretty nasty down here right now
We got another band heading our way. Its across Baton Rouge right now so that will most likely be our evening weather maker. Yeah what a great gov eaves would have been. I'm looking forward to the reactions of the owners of all those old beat up cars and trucks down here with W stickers when gas hits 4 bucks a gallon this summer.

13. Why does God hate Mississippi BOSS, WHY???
y'all do your best to be good christian republicans down there I know. I guess it's the heathen democrat sinners like you bringing God's wrath down upon all the good citizens of the Magnolia State. I hope you're ashamed of yourself.

14. I'm deeply repentant
Actually we heathen democrats make a lot of noise down here. Those in the state legislature are pretty fiesty. Not very smart, don't get much done but by gawd we are fiesty.

Thank Gawd I'm one hour to the French Quarter.

15. actually Chief, I met quite a few fairly progressive
Mississippians in Biloxi when I was stationed at Keesler and that was when they were putting Meridith into Ol' Miss. I dated a hostess at Baricevs and the old black man that swamped in the bar would come and get me to go outside with him while he tried to hail a black taxi, so the "rednecks" wouldn't bother him.

16. You're right shipmate
There is a large and positive liberal crowd down here. Just not near as noisy as the other guys. Keesler took a big hit due to the Hurricane. But Keesler and the CB base are hanging in there. Just got our statement today from Keesler Federal Credit Union (KFCU) Kentucky Fried Chicken Credit Union.

12. I'm not sure
of trent's housing situation. Our congressman, Gene Taylor lost his house in Bay St Louis as well. I do know those two did their best to drag the insurance companies through the mud. Taylor is still working at it. Our former (D) Governor Ronnie Musgrove is running for lotts seat. We just don't know when the election will be. Barbour and the Attorney General are fighting over that issue.
