I Would Have Still Supported Kerry in '08, but Edwards Is My Guy in the Primaries
http://www.google.com/search?q=corpgovactivist+%22why+I+would+support+senator+kerry+in+%2708%22&hl=en&filter=0">All the reasoning of this post still stands.

However, Edwards has the proven track record to carry the torch forward on these anti-corporatism issues. I like and respect Senator Obama. I think he is a gifted orator, an inspiring figure, and an up-and-comer.

In the coming days, I'm sure Senator Kerry will explain his reasoning. I will be giving it a careful and respectful listen. Maybe he fell victim to the http://www.google.com/search?as_q=corpgovactivist+&hl=en&num=10&btnG=Google+Search&as_epq=lucky+effect&as_oq=&as_eq=&lr=&cr=&as_ft=i&as_filetype=&as_qdr=all&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&as_occt=any&as_dt=i&as_sitesearch=democraticunderground.com&as_rights=&safe=images">Lucky Effect. Having lost in 2004, maybe he wants desperately to jump on a winning bandwagon. Maybe the two couples had a falling out on the campaign trail. No doubt, Senator Kerry has no shortage of offers to parade around the punditocracy circuit for the next few days.

Regardless, Senator Edwards has proven - time and time again - that he really will take on the corporate oligarchies that operate in key fields such as health care, pensions, defense contracting, etc. I plan to continue fighting for his candidacy, because I believe he will fight - effectively, and with proven, time-tested experience - for all Americans against these entrenched special interests.

2. I Love Debate
I've got a number of trinkets for it.

But even more than debate, I love history.

If I had a time machine and a wetware implant of Ancient Greek, I'd be all over watching some of the legendary orations at the apex of the Athenian Democracy. I'd also be interested in seeing the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demagogue">corruption of oratory into demagogy.

4. I was thinking the same thing today!
Imagine a Republicon telling the truth:

"We will rape the earth, ignore the dying seas, and polluted air (clear skies!) send your children to die in wars without proper equipment (Iraqi freedom!!!!!!!!) and when they come home ignore them and leave them to rot.(WE LOVE the troops) But it's okay because it makes our donors, stock holders and buddies rich!

Oh and we promise to all the corporations every tax break they want from sending your jobs overseas! And we will pretend to stop all the Mexicans from coming in while actually employing them for slave wages to make ourselves richer and take even more of your jobs away! And then we want you to blame them!

Edwards dares to hint at any of this and isn't as popular.

Obama thinks he can "work" with the rapists and murderers. It DOES sound nice, I admit.

Depends on where you're talking about.

All-important purplish swing states?

Oh, he's damn popular.

5. Good Point
He also understands the real cross-pressures that people trying to report wrongdoing face.
