Any candidate that thinks the country can work with the special
interests---meaning that he/she can convince them to give up even a little bit of their power for the common good is one deluded ideaologue.

It's.not.gonna.happen.

Folks, the only thing that is going to save this country is when WE THE PEOPLE take it back, and we can't do that until we stand up and FIGHT THE SPECIAL INTERESTS.

The corporations that own this country aren't going to give anything away. If we want our country back, we have to TAKE IT BACK.

Clinton is not our savior. Obama is not our savior. Edwards is not our savior.

We can only save ourselves.

WE.THE.PEOPLE.

And, if we won't fight, then we will get what we deserve.

1. Obama is empowering us.
If you listen to his message, he does not promise to save us. He promises to help us save ourselves.
You are right: "Folks, the only thing that is going to save this country is when WE THE PEOPLE take it back"
We have to come together as a people, before we take on these powerful interests. As long as we remain
Red States/Blue States, the special interests win.

3. And once we've moved even farther to the right (to be united/non-divisive)
We'll have even farther to go in trying to take the country back.

4. If I thought we would move farther to the right,
I would not be supporting Obama. As long as there is friction between those
who identify with near left and the near right, we will not solve any of the people's
problems. We have spent the last 30 years beating each other to a pulp, and neither
side has much to show for it. In fact, we on the left have lost more in the process.
Beating each up more is not going to move us forward.

We have to stop seeing the people on the right as the problem and we as the solution.
We all have to understand it is the intrenched interests at the top who have us all conned.
In fact, we even have to find new ways to label ourselves. Right and left are so 20th Century.

7. Right and left are so last century? Yeah, that's exactly what the right wants...
The Right wants Unity: they want to end all dissent. The Left wants workers' rights and civil rights. If you want to give up the Left, then you'll have to give up fair wages and other little benefits those "leftists" won for us in the last century. Because the Right does not believe in them.

8. It may help if you differentiate between the organized right and their
duped followers. If we want to achieve our goals, we somehow have to win these
people back. These are the people who parents and grandparents were Democrats.

The organized right is our enemy. They have turned these people away from democratic values
with their petty stupid issues that divide us. We need to find a way for these voters to come
back to these values. We need to become less polarized as a nation so that we can hear each other.

This organized right, the power alliances that currently run this country want us to hate the people
on the right and they want the people on the right to hate us. Got it. Then they strip us, all of us, of our
rights, our values, and our wealth,

and any other corporations that profit from death, plunder of resources, exploitation of slave labor, pollution for profit ...and that's not the entire list. We need to remove corporate person hood from the constitution.

9. While I agree with the conclusion, I have a couple of quibbles:
If, when you say "the country", you mean "the government", then we shouldn't have to "convince" them of anything. We're supposed to be able to pass laws that MAKE them do things.

Also, you seem to be using "special interests" and "corporations" interchangeably. I know of many "special interests" that I like and support and who work for the common good and aren't "corporations".

I think it is counter-productive to over-generalize. We don't have to "fight" the special interests. We need to fight the excessive control that big corporations have on our government. We can't win the battle if we are fighting the wrong enemy. Imprecise words are like imprecise bombs- they both cause a lot of collateral damage.

So, my re-write:

Any candidate who thinks that corporations that are dependent on profit for survival are going to be a partner in their own marginalization is delusional.

It's.not.gonna.happen.

We will have to MAKE them be responsible neighbors and the only way that politicians will MAKE them do that is if WE make the politicians make them do it.

Folks, the only thing that is going to save this country is when WE THE PEOPLE take it back, and we can't do that until we stand up AGAINST ABUSE BY BIG CORPORATIONS.
