16. It's not a real recession until the "investor class" feels it. Get with the program.

Nothing is real until we're told it is. Perception is reality. Tune in and STOP thinking!

:grr:

Now ... back to your regularly-scheduled "Elect An American Idol"!!! ("Issues"?? We don't need no freaking "issues"!)

18. Oh, the investor class feels it....
Since January 1st my portfolio has lost nearly all of the gains it saw last year. That's disturbing. Not nearly as disturbing, of course, as the fact that I finally dumped the last of my Countrywide stock two weeks ago. The damned thing shot up 50% today, and if I'd stayed in I could have made up a considerable portion of my losses :grr:

at time in order not to shock everyone..problem is, everyone who buys gas and groceries already know!

12. Well you can be sure they won't confirm it until after the chimp gives his state of the state or
state of the union or whatever it's called.

4. CBS just showed a clip of Hillary campaigning saying "the country is sliding
towards a recession"-
Most politicians don't want to admit it, but we've been in bad shape for a while.

6. Andrea and the campaigns...except for Edwards, you mean.
Can't talk about him. They don't like him, because he's going to mess with their big ole profits if he becomes President.

7. I thought your BUT was going to be "but its all Clinton's fault."
True, to me, the bloom is off of Bill Clinton's bud, but fair is fair. The 90's were so much better than they are now.

8. So far I think Hilary...

is about the only one who's actually had the guts to say it so far.

If the economy is in trouble, i can bloody well tell you, they are not going to put anyone in the WH who has limited experience. People will vote with their pocket books. It might garner peoples recollections of how good it was under the Clintons in the 90's

11. I think the word recession has a very specific definition..
Something like, two consecutive quarters of negative growth.

That's a problem, because we all know the growth numbers are fudged.

My bet is that the Fed waits until 2009 to announce the recession, just in time to blame it all on the Democrats.

17. The popular media NEVER report a recession, except in hindsight
They will report that we "had" a recession for some period of time in the past, but that now we're seeing all kinds of signs of a recovery, and the recession is over. But in real time? "Possible" recession is about as far as they'll go. If we're in a recession, and have been in a recession for some time, it won't be officially confirmed for some months to come.

20. and precisely why if .........

They are reporting a recession, the people are going to look for the safest hands.

Its been said before, if the economy becomes dominant in this primary, Clinton will win it hands down.

the Democrats win. Then all hell will break loose and it will the Democrats fault.
