Attacks and attempted attacks by female suicide bombers in Iraq since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion:
-Dec. 31, 2007: A female suicide bomber detonates explosives near a police patrol, wounding five policemen and four civilians in Baqouba, 35 miles northeast of Baghdad.
-Dec. 7, 2007: A female suicide bomber attacks offices of a local Sunni group battling al-Qaida in Iraq, killing at least 15 people and wounding 35 in Muqdadiyah, about 60 miles north of Baghdad. The woman was a former member of Saddam Hussein's Baath party whose two sons joined al-Qaida and were killed by Iraqi forces.
-Nov. 4, 2007: A woman detonates explosives next to an American patrol near Baqouba, wounding seven U.S. troops and five Iraqis.
-July 23, 2007: A female suicide bomber kills two policemen and wounds 10 at a checkpoint on the outskirts of Ramadi, 70 miles west of Baghdad. The belt was hidden underneath her conservative Muslim dress.
-June 5, 2007: Guards foil a suicide attack in eastern Baghdad, gunning down a black-clad female bomber approaching a group of police recruits and causing her explosives to detonate. snip
-April 15, 2003: Two female suicide bombers carry out an attack that killed three coalition soldiers at a checkpoint northwest of Baghdad. Coalition forces said one women was pregnant.
