AGENT OF CHANGE - my perspective
“Oh, listen, if you're running for office, you can't run for office and not say, ‘I'm an agent of change,’" Bush told NBC News’ David Gregory. “That's just American politics. If I were running for office at this point I'd be saying, ‘Vote for me, I'm -- I'm gonna be an agent of change.’"

We all know the Dem candidates are running on a "change" theme. Exit polls in New Hampshire showed 97% disapproval of smirk-boy.

The republics are in the midst of switching gears and are also running on the "change" theme.

When the quote (posted above) first showed up on the DU, the reaction typically was one of anger and frustration. However, my reaction was one of delight.

Consider why you would want to change something? You change something when it's not working.

Smirk-boy, "Mr. Resolute" is now saying he would run as an agent of change. Isn't this an admission that his administration has been wrong on everything? That his policies are and have been wrong? That he's been going down the wrong road?

From my perspective - smirk-boy admitted he's been a total failure and the worst president ever.

question to ask the republic candidates: You are saying we need change, and you are the agent of change - what would you change regarding the pResident's policies and positions? how would you do it differently?

1. Good take on this administration. It certainly seems as if
bush admitted that his administration did do everything wrong. So much that if he were running, he also would be an agent of change.

2. exactly - he would run against himself
saying he did everything wrong and he would change everything.

DEMS need to pick up on this and corner the republics - specifically asking them what they support regarding bush's mis-administration, what they don't support and how they would change it

and don't let them get away with dodging by saying "mistakes have been made"

examples: Given the current state of the economy - would you continue to support and promote tax cuts for the rich?

knowing there are no WMDS in Iraq - would you have invaded?

Bush had vetoed stem cell research twice - if president and a stem cell bill came across your desk - would you sign it?

Bush has recently stated we will be in Iraq for at least 10 more years, how are your views and proposals different?

Rising oil prices are putting an increasing financial burden on the American people - what would you do to change this? Additionally, scientists report global warming is a problem we must address NOW - what will you do?

Bush vetoed extending healthcare to millions of uninsured children - would you veto a similar bill? How is your healthcare plan different than bush's?
