Has there been any updates/news on the dead pregnant Marine? I had a dream last night that the baby

had been cut out of the abdomen of the woman and that they discovered this when they uncovered her body from its shallow grave. (I know, I know....sick dreams that Pachamama is having).

Just wondering...I woke up because it was such a powerful dream and the baby was actually alive somewhere...

Maybe its just wishful thinking on my part that this baby somehow survived an awful tragedy. I feel so sad for this poor woman. She must have been all alone with no one taking her rape charges seriously and even her own mother who claimed on National TV that her daughter was a liar and bi-polar (even with her daughter have been missing for a month). Imagine what she was dealing with before she "disappeared" in mid-December....even if she did have "issues" of depression or what not, imagine being in the military, being raped, being pregnant through that rape and having people threatening you for coming forward. Imagine having a mother or other family and friends think you are a liar and treating you as such. And then she is killed by apparentely the very man who raped her. No one helped her, no one protected her. And then there is the baby. An innocent victim of the result of others actions.

I have powerful dreams and this one woke me up last night because it was that the baby had been taken. I was wondering if there has been any news about finding the body of Maria Lauterbach and her child.

site where her body may be buried, but I didn't know if it had been confirmed or if they had exhumed it and given any kind of statement about how she had been killed or anything about the baby (ie. is the baby still in her womb, did she give birth, etc.).

It was just too eerie that I had this dream last night and so that is why I was wondering if there was any news about her....I actually hope my dream is true and that somehow, that the child either was born naturally (or as morbid as it may sound, taken from the womb - as my dream had gone) and is now alive.

Also not surprising you dreamed about it, if you'd seen it on TV right before bed.

BTW... do you sleep with the TV on?

They did find what they assme to be her body, I heard that on the news this morning. There was no mention of the baby, though.

of death for pregnant women is murder....Funny, when I have been pregnant, I always felt so "safe" walking around almost like my tribe, my society would protect me and yet the leading cause of death of pregnant women is murder, not child birth, not accidents.

Anyway, I also think of how much abuse is in our society of women, and then I thought about the increasing numbers of sexual assaults and rapes in the military and even when women are not believed when they say they have been raped. What really got to me was when I saw the interview on TV with the "mother" of Maria Lauterbach. I felt this sick feeling in my stomach and one of sadness that this poor woman was missing and there was her Mom talking about her daughter as if she was some lunatic who probably was off on some other "lie" or bi-polar episode. It felt cold and out of touch and I felt the loneliness that Maria must have been feeling in her life. Was anyone really even looking for her the last month? How come we never heard about her disappearance in December? She wasn't home with family on Christmas? And her Mom had nothing to think of better to say on national TV covering her daughters' disappearance than to suggest her daughter's bi-polar and a liar? And the military? They didn't arrest this SOB Laurean and conduct a serious investigation and protect her and her unborn child?

Very sad....and wrong.

But then it gets back to that dream I had last night....I occassionally have these powerful dreams that wake me up, sometimes about current events that I have heard of or ones not at all. And they often are true. So that's why I posted and asked if anyone heard anything. It's what I love about the DU...its literally better than Google to finding info... :)

Okay, now I'm really weirded out....I literally shot up out of bed at about 4:30AM this morning after having this dream and its been on my mind a lot. Strange too, because I literally only saw the story for 5 minutes on the evening news the other day with the interview of her Mom saying she was Bi-polar and then seeing on some of the stations that they were covering her body being found, but I didn't watch any full reports because it seemed like everything was speculative (ie. if they even knew where she was) and that they had a bulletin out for the guy she had accused of raping her. But other than that, nothing.

God, I hope my dream was right (and that the child is alive). Atleast then, something good came out of an awful tragedy.

I will say one thing...if, if this was true....I hope the Mother of Maria Lauterbach wouldn't be the one raising this child. And that everytime she had to look at that child, she would be reminded of what she said about her daughter being "bi-polar" and a liar. :cry:

I know he probably had nothing to do with the whole mess, but, if she was married, you would think that someone would have interviewd him..
and yes.. shame on her step-mom.. I wonder if her birth-mom is still living.. and why she did not speak up..

It sounds like this poor young woman had a very chaotic young life:cry:..and she got little help along the way to her horrific death

how does someone get to a point where doing that to another human being is an option? I'm still not clear on the whole story,the thing that killed her, was he also the father of the a baby?

and was scheduled to testify against. I'm not sure of that, though. It is indeed a confusing story.
