CNN showing MI voters and their concerns.
No link - they interviewed undecided voters this morning.

The voters indicated concerns with jobs and the economy. So, who were they leaning towards?

Well, 3 of them in a diner this a.m. were planning to vote republic, two voters for mittens and one for mclame.

Just a minute ago, a voter stated that when business gets a tax break, they'll create more jobs (or some such fantasy).

Now Ive not been one to get into discussions about the sheer stupidity of the american people. Mostly passed by threads that expressed such frustration.

But here are MI people. Working people. People in a whole lot of hurt and they are putting their trust in republics.

Forget CNN and bs about them seeking out republics to interview. That's a given. What amazes me is that these are working people trusting their well-being to a bunch of republic crooks.

Can I get a big :wtf: from you out there in DU land please? I mean how low have people been dumbed down here? What are they hearing from republics that attracts them to the republic agenda?

2. I saw that too and was amazed
Their biggest concerns were jobs and health care but they all said they were voting or leaning pub. Why? Not, apparently, because they thought any of the repub candidates would do anything about these issues of course. No, they were leaning that way because Mitt's daddy did a good job there as governor and McCain is "down-to-earth."

The reporter never even asked them if they had looked at each candidate's stand on the issues, what they thought of the different health care proposals or anything of any content.

It's a scary world out there. :scared:

5. Jobs and healthcare - that's right.
So are the republics speaking a very simple (however deceptive) language to these people which attract them to the dark side?

3. Don't they realize...
it was people like Mittens and his dad who made such a mess out of Michigan??

It must be so hard to see straight when you're in the middle of it
(come to think of it, same applies to us around here recently : - )

poop.

7. Look Whose Voting
Except for a few Kucinch people and Kosacks crossing over for Mittens, there's no Democratic race there and thus no horse race. Remember, the corporate media is out for the entertainment factor here...the bloodsport, not the issues or the process. They want dish...dirt and to play "kingmaker" here. It's amusing a week after they got their heads handed to them about polls and their snap punditry, they're back at it again like no one's noticed how poorly they've done so far.

Actually I don't mind all this attention being paid to the repugnicans...it spotlights how inept their candidates are and how out of touch with the electorate their corrupt party is.

8. easy does it, guys
We haven't descended into madness just yet. We've got a good healthy share of dumb shits here, but I've traveled widely and the ratio seems to be the same as everywhere else. Remember we've been a blue state in just about every election. Don't make any judgements from a sampling of 3 people.

9. Right, we do generally go blue
I just voted and I was voter #46, but only Dem voter #11. But that ratio is probably about right for my precinct - it's pretty conservative. And a lot of people might not bother with the Dem primary this year anyway.

I've seen a lot of signs for Ron Paul. I've heard people say they'll vote for McCain or they won't vote at all. I have no idea what the out-of-work Republicans are thinking. Republicans don't protect workers. Republicans protect large corporations that move industrial jobs overseas.

11. No judgment here.
I'm confused that even after 7 years of anti-worker republic policies, working people still buy into the republic agenda.

And the rationale for their support are bread & butter issues = healthcare and jobs. There's a disconnect there.

10. They are voting for Repubs because the Dem primary means nothing
and none of the Dem candidates are here.

Billionaire Repub Dick Devos spouted all the crap you'd expect when he was running for MI Gov in 2006, and he was royally spanked by our Dem Gov. Granholm by 16%.

Don't worry about it. Yet.
