Another annoying thing re: Lieberman
Remember in the 2000 campaign, he wouldn't campaign on Saturdays, so as not to break the Sabbath?

How come he could break the sabbath two weeks ago to vote against cloture on the "surge" amendment, which took place on a Saturday?

5. He has always voted on Saturdays
The prohibitions are from turning on or off lights, riding in a car, that kind of thing. As long as he walks to the Senate and doesn't have to turn on the lights or any of that, it falls with in the range of things he can do. My dad used to turn on the lights for the local synagogue when he was a kid.

6. yeah
I turned on a lot of lights in college for orthodox classmates. But I remember a big deal being made about him not being able to campaign on saturdays.

How is riding in a car somebody else drives different from using a light somebody else turns on? Does Lieberman walk to the capitol on Saturdays?

7. I have no clue why it is different
and yes he walks to the Senate on Saturday's or stays in his office over night. I don't recall which it was but I recall reading it in several profiles when he ran for VP.
