So what happens after the election?

I haven't been here in quite a while... Iowa roused me out of a "disgust and apathy" mode where I wasn't even following political news. I'm not 100% sure I'll be voting for Obama, but I'm glad the primaries aren't being seen as a foregone conclusion anymore. Glad enough to have been lurking in here again for a week or so.

Next January, we will have a Democrat in office... But we will still have a government waging two evil wars (Iraq and Drugs), rewarding corporations for selling us out, neglecting steps that must be taken to protect the environment, and plundering the middle class to prop up the wealthiest. So what does DU become then? Are we going to focus on fighting the freepers who will inevitably be attacking the new admin from day one, or will we continue to be as honestly and forthrightly critical of our new leaders as we have been of our current non-leaders?

I guess Skinner and co. will make that decision when the time comes, but I'm curious to know what the rank-and-file would like to see happen. The divisions getting sown right now seem to be making it impossible for this site to either emphatically support or progressively criticize President Clinton II, Obama, or Edwards.

PS. I don't know what happened to my star while I was gone! But now I can't get into the group I helped start.

After the election the Dems are gonna have a lot of good make-up sex. We can only hope. :)
