Why do republicons hate all that is honest, true and good...?

Just a refresher for the class...and for those who haven't seen Charlie Wilson's War...that the Raygun regime was doling out money and weapons under the table to all sorts of new "friends"...Rummy was in Baghdad giving Saddam materials for chemical weapons while money and weapons were being fed to the Mujahadeen (later known as Al Queda and the Taliban) in Afghanistan and Pakistan...all in the middle were our good friend the Repugnicans with greed in their eye. They saw a two-fer here...going after the "evil empire" of the Soviet Union and finding a new market for American weapons (it's not a real war until BOTH sides have our weapons). This was also the time of Abscam and BCCI...scandals we still have no clue to their depths.

One reason this regime NEEDs this perpetual war in Iraq is to gloss over all their illicit deals under the "War on Terror"...replacing Soviet with Al Queda and playing the same boogieman games on one hand while dealing with those same boogiemen behind the scenes.

A semi-sidenote...many moon ago, I worked with an ethnic radio station...it was a virtual United Nations...dozens of different languages and cultures...and one hell of a great learning experience. One of those shows was an Arab-American program...primarily Palestinian...and a majority of the advertising on the show was for this "social society" or "charity"...many now I'm sure are banned. I was told as the time straight out that these organizations were for the "health, welfare and security"...and you can just imagine what the "security" meant. But these people weren't the only ones who did this...so did the Irish (during "the troubles") and a then unknown group...Serbians. The amount of money this country has sent abroad for wars can't be calculated in both dollar amounts and the problems that it's created for this country.

Here's hoping this scandal opens the door to the dirty dealing that sells our national security to the highest bidder...just like what made Rudy a very rich man.
