I see that Obama is still talking out of his ass?
I'm beginning to think that he's not as smart as we are led to believe?

1. Pat Leahy must think he's pretty smart.

2. I'm seeing the word 'ass', but think it might be directed at the OP for
posting something so dumb with no context.

4. Maybe next time I'll hold your hand.
You don't need context to know Obama's latest gaffe. Well maybe you do....

7. What's the point of this thread, inciting flamethrower's???
Edited on Thu Jan-17-08 11:00 AM by DainBramaged
Obama supporters bash Clinton supporters, Clinton supporters bash Obama supporters, Edwards supporters bash everyone, and this is supposed to be constructive discussion?

How sad.

8. The point is the guy is disappointing the crap out of me...
At one time I was seriously leaning to this guy but he keeps spouting shit that pisses me off.

Giving Ronnie Raygun some love pisses me off to know end.

10. It's called politics, welcome to it.
He is campaigning for the GE already, that statement is telling.

I support Obama 100% ...He said something nice about Ronnie to appeal to the moderates, no need to go nuclear.

11. Do you have kids?
If you do, they piss us off on a regular basis, and disappoint more so than not, but we love them none the less. Treat your candidate as if he/she was your child and you'll find yourself less likely to be disappointed.

16. Well you do have a point, I have read some of his quotes and I think they are from
his book and frankly they are frightening. Reagan did a lot of damage to this country in so many ways including opening the door for the neoncons & the fundies to walk right on in.

19. Do you have a problem with the truth? Raygun's election was when the
country moved to the right of center. That's why he described it as having "trajectory."

It wasn't a compliment. It was a statement of his (and mine along with most everyone else I know) opinion on where our country is right now politically. We as liberals have been fighting a huge battle to take the country back to a center left which it was back in the day of the Kennedy's. We have an opportunity with the right candidate to change the trajectory of political ideals and action in this country.

12. This is Obama's statement that first angered me, and caused me to question
whether he was fit to be President: "I think you reserve impeachment for grave, grave breaches, and intentional breaches of the president's authority."

WTF, Barack? Where has your head been?

- Outing a CIA agent during a time of war for political reasons
- Lying to start a war against a sovereign nation who did nothing to us
- Destroying evidence to cover up crimes
- Ignoring Congressional subpoenas
- Rampant cronyism which placed unqualified people in jobs that led to death
- Illegal spying
- Torture

These aren't grave breaches of authority? Come on Barack, what are you thinking?

If Bush and Cheney haven't committed grave breaches of authority, Barack Obama is a white woman!

:wtf:

13. What's Edwards' stand on impeachment?
and would that be a make-it or break-it issue for your support of him?

14. Edwards believes that Bush and Cheney have broken the law,
and taken too much executive power, but is not for impeachment because he feels it would bring Congress to a stop.

He has acknowledged that he understands why people are for impeachment, and he believes they have every right to feel that way.

It is one of the issues I do not agree with him on, but he has not gone as far as Barack has by stating basically that no grave offenses have been committed.

It is not a make it or break it with me, obviously, and it wouldn't have been with Barack either had he not gone so far as to minimize the crimes of Bush and Cheney.

15. Its good to know Edwards says they broke the law.
I've pretty much given up on impeachment:2008, but awhile back I ran a DU poll asking what the chances for justice would be under a Dem president. It was pretty dismal.

17. i think he is plenty smart however he is still new to hard core presidential politics
and what you are seeing are silly slip ups that even bright people make but presidential candidates can rarely afford to make.

i find his disregard for the gay community to be far more worrisome
