Bush attacks the whales - Is no one safe from this asshole?
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/01/16/die-whales-die/
President Bush exempted the Navy from an environmental law so it can continue using sonar in its anti-submarine warfare training off the California coast — a practice critics say is harmful to whales and other marine mammals.

The White House announced Wednesday that Bush had signed the exemption Tuesday while traveling in the Middle East. (snip)

“The president’s action is an attack on the rule of law,” said Joel Reynolds, director of the Marine Mammal Protection Project at the Natural Resources Defense Council. “By exempting the Navy from basic safeguards under both federal and state law, the president is flouting the will of Congress, the decision of the California Coastal Commission and a ruling by the federal court.”

This is not some little thing…sonar used so close to their migration paths disorients the whales (and other marine life) and causes them to beach themselves. A study in 2000 found that incidences of bleeding in the ear and around the brain of marine life from mid-frequency sonars as the Navy uses.

1. No One Is Safe
Bush is a maniac intent on destroying all that is good and decent.

So, of course he will do all that he can to destroy whales -- those gentle leviathans of the deep.

And who is surprized that he is using the military to do it?

Some of his cronies are no doubt getting rich off of this plan to kill off the whales.

8. this is truly horrible, and definitely a REAL problem for dolphins and whales
The fight to protect dolphins and whales from this ill-conceived project has been long and hard (the tussle between the Navy and environmentalists has been going on for at least 14 or 15 years. .), and, while no surprise that Bush would come down, once again, on the wrong and evil side of the issue, this is a particularly terrible and consequential fiat. It's bad enough that the Bushies are so dead set against protecting the environment. But they seem bent on even more than obstruction: it feels more like revenge.Short-sighted, bad, and, above all, weirdly irrational.

Yeah, no one seems to be safe from these guys. I hope we have a world left to save once we can finally purge our country of this crowd one very long year from now.

11. Lets see, so far, he has...
Ruined the air with his Clean Skies (NOT) act

Polluted waterways

Screwed mine workers by putting in place a pro-mine owner supervisor

What's left? Space (can you pollute a vacuum?) and the ocean. Fine job Bushie.
