Why would so many in the Congress & Senate follow such a moron?

It is beyond me how so many supposedly intelligent people could follow such a moron on his economic policies or his war policies. Just the mere fact of his lack of intellect should make anyone pause to follow him anywhere. But now, the chickens are coming home to roost. Thanks to all our brave Congresssmen and Senators.
