The following clip of Jonah Goldberg being interviewed on the Daily Show should, I submit, convince anyone that Jonah Goldberg doesn't have any idea of what he's talking about. He gets numerous opportunities to explain why liberals aren't fascists and instead he just randomly combines words. I mean when the first thing you say when someone asks you why you think liberals are fascists is that the New Republic supported Mussolini in the 1920s you've made it clear that you don't actually have any evidence.

This also just reinforces my point from the other day. Goldberg doesn't give a damn about fascism. He just wants to convince everyone that progressives are evil opressive racists and if that involves saying the environmental movement is fascist because some Nazis liked organic food then so be it.

Equally damning is this Michael Ledeen review. Ledeen is a hard-right political scientist and pundit, but he's also an actual expert of fascism. His critique is all the more devastating because he so clearly didn't want to have to write it. The not-in-anger-but-in-sadness tone is incredibly effective.

He also highlights this damning passage which I just don't even know what to say about:

Jonah the Whale creates "books" in search of a thesis...preconcieved, perverted "ideals" that he attempt to turn black into white, up into down...a favorite Repugnican trick that sold a lot of books for Coultergeist and others for the past decade. He claims he doesn't need to defend what he writes and those who don't see his conveluted "logic" "just don't get it". That's cause he doesn't get it either and he thinks he can bullshit his way into relevence...his real game here.

All Jonah cares is that his book gets some kind of promotion...even if it means "libruls" who buy it to rip it apart. Any little sale matters...as the more buzz this fukwad gets, the more "relevent" he appears in the right wing media machine. Yes...laugh at the fool...but never take the scumbag seriously. He should be ridiculed until he decides that selling vinyl siding is more his forte.

He is a waste of life in search of an identity.

... that as idiotic as goldberg's claims are, he'll be quoted repeatedly by both conservatives and the MSM; and an unfortunate number of people will believe he's actually making some point.

Goldberg was on Morning Joe last week and Scarborough just fawned all over him, and told him how much he just LOVED the premise and the smiley-face Hitler cover. That's about as deep as most of these people get...put a Hitler mustache on the WalMart logo and dammit, it just goes to show them libruls is eeeeevil!

Equating liberalism with fascism is simply not possible, and even attempting it in as lightweight as fashion as does Goldberg, the strain shows. Of course he was going to wind up looking stupid. Again.

Standard Republican trick to fool people into believing their opponents are actually guilty of what they are guilty of themselves.

Best case scenario for them, is that the people actually believe it and their opponent pays the price for what the Republican is guilty of.

Worst case scenario for them, is that the people believe it is a wash, because both are guilty, so nothing is corrected and we drift further to the right.


Liberal Fascism makes no sense at all and anyone who even thinks about believing it is a complete idiot.

The Pukes use them to no end and I am amazed anybody falls for this horse shit. Jesus Americans are stupid. What the fuck happened to critical thinking skills? My six year old is more astute than 75% of the adults I meet. That Goldberg was even able to publish this stinking pile of baboon barf is just so fucking WRONG. My incredulity meter has been busted FOREVER.
