MoJo: How Far Rudy Has Fallen
How Far Rudy Has Fallen

So now Rudy Giuliani is a factor. His plan until this point was to solidify his formidable support in the February 5th states by campaigning there while all of his competitors fought over Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and the rest of the early states.

That plan has most definitely not worked, thanks in large part, to John McCain. Giuliani is currently behind in the polls in, of all places, New York.

<snip>

When questioned in early November about how Giuliani's leads in all of these states might be affected by the momentum Giuliani's competitors would gain by winning early states, the Giuliani campaign said that his leads were "momentum-proof." Whoops.

I love seeing Giuliani fail. He's such a prick.

1. I don't really understand his plan. How was only winning Florida going to help him?

3. it's winner take all, if he were to win he'd pick up 57 delegates and most likely
his base (shudder) would start sending him $$$.

6. I see. Dang, the best laid plans...
It would have been fun to have him be the Republican nominee. I wanted to see the pictures of he and his mistress, and him in tights and a short skirt. A fun time would have been had by all.

7. He made a few mistakes
1) He figured nobody would come out of Iowa, SC, NH and Nevada with any momentum.

2) He thought his one issue of 911, 911 and 911 would be enough to keep him competitive in those states to counteract any potential momentum.

3) Since nobody would have momentum going into Florida, he would win that state because it has so many Rudy-loving former New Yorkers, and that would give him momentum going into Super-Tuesday.

He had to figure that his magic name and media image as America's Mayor would give him 3rd or 4th in those early states without even campaigning. But, instead, he finished 5/6 in many of them and got only 60% of the vote that Ron Paul has gotten.

5. It's partially spin.. Rudy WAS trying to campaign in NH at least. But the people there
smelled what he was cookin', and they didn't want to have any.

So he slunk away and tried to pretend he didn't really try to win there to minimize the appearance of failure.

Trouble is, we're now getting well into the season, and no one wants any of what Rudy's cooking.
