The Big Money Blackout of John Edwards
http://jedreport.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/1/21/101233/955/548/438798

It's not just corporate media blackout of John Edwards.

It's also a big money blackout, and it's just as bad.

Maybe even worse.

(end snip)

Here are your anti-populists. Here is why there is little coverage of Edwards. Here is why they make a laughing stock of Edwards and Kucinich. There is a major, major effort to marginalize him and most importantly his message. And who are the players? Who is driving this? MSNBC,CNN? no they are just the foot soldiers.

Remember Tom Donohue, who a few weeks ago used his position as CEO of the US Chamber of Commerce to threaten any candidate who had a populist message? "If we bite you, you will bleed".

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-chamber8jan08,1,5346679.story?track=rss&ctrack=1&cset=true

Remember last week the founder of the DLC dissing Edwards and his message?

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/01/11/dlc-leaders-cut-edwards-out

(snip)

And then Al From, the D.L.C. founder, said he was “very happy about the two candidates” Americans are considering.

Only two candidates?

(snip)

Well, O.K. But what about John Edwards? He beat Mrs. Clinton in Iowa, as one reporter pointed out, but Mr. From still doesn’t think Mr. Edwards is viable.

I’m not going to speculate where the Edwards people go because I don’t know, to be honest with you. I think Edwards has run a hard, tough campaign. It’s not a, you know, he doesn’t take the tack that necessarily I agree with. What we’ve seen so far in this campaign is optimism. …

I think what you’re saying is that this is moving into a two-person race and that people in the race have been optimistic and hopeful, and I think that bodes well for the party because in the end, as long as I’ve been in politics — and I’m a lot older than 37 — the optimism always beats pessimism.

(end snip)

And, guess what? There is a connection between these two!

From 2006:

http://www.mydd.com/story/2006/12/13/14220/862

Donahue is really smart, and the Chamber isn't going away. If you read the full article, you'll see that he hired Al From, head of the DLC, to make sure that right-wing policies succeed in both parties.

(end snip)

Voting rights, the race baiting of the media, the lies, the missing e-mails, the flagrant disregard for the rule of law, the blackouts, the so called leadership, the forgotten Iraq war, the protection of the Chimperor, it's all related, and it is all made to keep the masses uninformed, lied to, and unable to speak.

IT IS NOT POPULISM THEY ARE AFRAID OF, IT IS THE TRUTH THEY FEAR.

4. And why do you suppose that is?
Because far too many people will vote for a candidate simply because the DLC/DCCC/DSCC tells them to.

9. There is a phenomenon---As the race becomes more of a
horse-race--the Media cover Obama, Clinton == Clnton , Obama.
There is a tendency of a lot of people to wish to be with the winner.
They drift to whom they perceive as winner and then go back and forth.
Some of his followers are get on the bandwagon and others who really
believe in him will drop out and not vote. The sooner the Media
decides who are the two and start the horserace this pushes others
out.

The get on the bandwagon phenomenon is something else. They like to
be able to say I voted for the winner.

Until the public is truly educated on issues things will never change
Here is a job for activisits. Educating the public -- not just each
other. May be too late this election but a noble long term goal.

3. Because of his stand against the corporate stranglehold on
the average American there is retaliation. Corporate fascists know that is their biggest weapon. It is a weapon that is used on us every day. :dem:

6. You would have thought greed would take over and they would be fawning over
each other for Mr. Donohue's $60 million.

Even the money isn't moving them -- they are terrified of the message.

12. And if big money candidates are elected
we are all going to be very, very disappointed. If Clinton or Obama is elected, they will turn their backs on Americans.
