Note to Obama: Hire some better political consultants
Obama,

You are falling into her trap, big time. She's going to continue to dig up some obscure issue
to get you off message. To rile you up. To put you on the defensive!

How much better it would have been, when she brought up the slum lord dig for you to have laughed it off, very briefly explained, and calmly moved immediately to "See, this is the kind of politics I want us to move beyond, the petty digs. I want us to focus on the big things that matter to the country..." In other words, do not dignify the petty issue by getting upset and defensive. Just use the rest of the time on getting your real message of hope and change out there.

It was also very dissappointing that you are not bring up the fact that by all polls I've seen, Clinton is very unpopular with Republicans. This dovetails very nicely into your message about expanding the coaliton to include Indys and moderate Republicans. A broader coalition can not be built and the democratic agenda can not be advanced, when most Republican would rather die than vote for a Clinton.

3. Well, conventional wisdom out there this morning - lumps him in
with Clinton - as a bickerer (if that's a word).

8. Well MSNBC and CNN are aiding and abetting the Clinton lie
machine. They show the attacks against Obama without giving his defense. The Obama camp should come out and aggressively speak out against this. They are also pushing John Edwards. But what the heck, all they want is a DLC candidate.

Wolf Blitzer said during the debates - you've been attacked you have the right to respond (giving the appearance of a fair media). But after the debate the media was blatantly repeating the Clinton lies without showing Obama's responses. Even Anderson Cooper called them on the one comment (when the commentator lied and said Obama didn't repy to the one smear), going on the record repeating Obama's defense.

11. Ya - I saw that. Joe something? Anderson asked him the
defense on the slum lord dig. He said Obama didn't really
respond - and Anderson corrected him.

4. And you really believe that the Republicans who say they like Obama
are going to actually vote for him in the GE? Your lips must be cherry red or orange from drinking the Kool Aid.

5. Better some chance than NO chance. My repuke inlaws would
rather walk on hot burning coals and have their fingernails pulled out than vote for Clinton.

6. Go read some puke blog and boards
Even the most rabid freepers seem to think he's honorable and likable. I've seen several comments saying they wish he was a conservative. And those are the bitterest partisans. Will they vote for him? No. Would other repukes. Probably. It's impossible to know if they'd do it in numbers large enough to count but history should teach is that it's certainly possibe. Does the phrase "Reagan Democrats" ring a dim bell? It should if you know even the slightest shred of political history from that era. A little education goes a long way. Try it.

10. Yep, that's my point. Petty digs beget petty digs ! Explain when
attacked and then immediately move on to positive! People today are praising
Edwards, and rightly so because he rises above it all. Obama should take
that message. Besides, Obama needs Edwards and Edwards needs Obama, if either
are to win. They both need to portray the antithesis of the old politics of division.
Since it is a given that Edwards is in until Denver, Obama's only hope is that his
supporters identify closely with Edwards -- enough to get his delegates. The same
is true for Edwards. If he passes Obama in delegates, he'll need Obama's to beat
Hillary.

12. on the other hand, since Edwards is not in the lead right now,
no one is attacking him. It is a lot easier to rise above
the fray when no one is picking your career apart.
