Poor Pumpkin. I think she was more in shock than hurt. I didn't see any wounds from LuLu's claw. But those 2 wolves Simon and Scarlett are just plain mean. I don't know where they get it. I guess some cats just have that tendency like any animal.

Cosmo was mean like Scarlett and Simon and it made me sooooo mad. Skid gets mean too, especially when Milo tries to get in the bed.

What was so sad is that Pumpkin never bothers anyone. She quietly went out to have a little nap on my new chair. She was just sleeping and who knows how LuLu got up there and put her claw in P's face.... it would be very funny if it weren't so awful.

I think that they didn't want to disturb her as she had been trapped in the garage (it was cold overnight), came in, found me, made a warm spot and fell asleep. They remembered that they had trapped her in the garage, and were trying to make amends, lol.

We don't want Hillary, but we were afraid if we voted for Edwards it would be a de facto vote for Hill. After last night's childish exchange, we both said "Screw it. We're voting for Edwards and the hell with those two idiots".

Last night on Ray Taliaferro's show, someone called in and said he hasn't been the same since his heart surgery - and I think they're right.

I think that his BIG ego is tied up in Hillary's getting into the White House, and the party be damned. AFAIC, he's hurting the party, and even Sen. Leahy stated pretty much the same on Dead Head Ed's show this afternoon. :shrug:

If one compares a video of the Big Dog pre-surgery with a current one, there's a world of difference. He used to be able to charm anyone - and had such a sense of humor. Now, he frequently seems angry.

I'm with you guys, basically. Kucinich is my first choice, and Edwards is a close second. I'm watching what is happening, and if it looks as if my vote will be important, in terms of Edwards, I'll vote for him.

We're in California, and ideally we'd vote for Kucinich. But we feel that's a "Nader" vote that will throw the election to Hill. After last night's debate we said "OK - that's it. Edwards."

Bill was in the state last night, shoring up support for the DLC queen, I'm sure. She's the worst possible candidate for my area, besides Sen. Obama, IMHO. I can't tell you of the number of people that approach the mr. and me stating flat out that they really don't want to vote for a repub, but they despise Hillary and whether the Obama campaign wants to realize it or or not, that stupid viral e-mail about his being a Msulim, etc., has taken hold, and no matter the number of times of debunking that crap...they still buy into it.

I've just resorted to telling them to get their asses to the polls in the primary and vote. :shrug:

Also, have you noticed how much more coverage the Democratic race seems to be getting? I wonder if it's part of the strategy - get everyone sick of the eventual Democratic nominee so that the puke looks like the fresh face.

The Starbucks were likely to be better educated, more affluent, more likely to be wine drinkers and to vote for Obama.

The Wal-Mart democrats were less educated, more concerned about their financial outlook, more likely to be beer drinkers, and more likely to vote for Sen. Clinton.

Taking Turkey as the focal point and with a start date of 1998, it is easy to speculate why Sibel Edmonds indicated that there was a convergence of US and foreign counter-narcotics, counter-terrorism and US national security and economic interests all of which were too preoccupied to surface critical information warning Americans of the attacks of September 11, 2001. After all, who would have believed drug runners operating in Central Asia? And besides, President Clinton was promoting Turkey, one of the world’s top drug transit points, as a model for Muslim-Western cooperation and a country necessary to reshape the Middle East.

The FBI’s Office of International Operations, in conjunction with the CIA and the US State Department counter-narcotics section, the United Kingdom’s MI6, Israel’s Mossad, Pakistan’s ISI, the US DEA, Turkey’s MIT, and the governments and intelligence agencies of dozens of nations, were in one way or another involved in the illicit drug trade either trying to stop it or benefit from it. What can be surmised from the public record is that from 1998 to September 10, 2001, the War on Drugs kept bumping into the nascent War on Terror and new directions in US foreign policy.

In 1998, the US Department of State (DOS) was finally forced to admit that Turkey was a major refining and transit point for the flow of heroin from Southwest Asia to Western Europe, with small quantities of the stuff finding its way to the streets of the USA. In that same year, Kendal Nezan, writing for Le Monde Diplomatique, reported that MIT, and the Turkish National Police force were actively supporting the trade in illicit drugs not only for fun and profit, but out of desperation.

"After the Gulf War in 1991, Turkey found itself deprived of the all-important Iraqi market and, since it lacked significant oil reserves of its own, it decided to make up for the loss by turning more massively to drugs. The trafficking increased in intensity with the arrival of the hawks in power, after the death in suspicious circumstances of President Turgut Özal in April 1993. According to the minister of interior, the war in Kurdistan had cost the Turkish exchequer upwards of $12.5 billion. According to the daily Hürriyet, Turkey’s heroin trafficking brought in $25 billion in 1995 and $37.5 billion in 1996...Only criminal networks working in close cooperation with the police and the army could possibly organize trafficking on such a scale. Drug barons have stated publicly, on Turkish television and in the West, that they have been working under the protection of the Turkish government and to its financial benefit. The traffickers themselves travel on diplomatic passports... the drugs are even transported by military helicopter from the Iranian border."
