Not even hours after his death... they claim that it's because BBM is an abomination. Do these motherfuckers have no shame? I guess they dont. :banghead:

The rev. Phelps is no true Christian nor will he be rewarded for his ignorance. It is a miracle he has lived so long.

37. Hi there, and welcome to DU!
I lived in Kansas for 10 years, and Phelps & family were always picketing something, always. Usually, he was ignored locally, but the MSN is so into putting him on their front pages. He should be ignored, period. He and his family live for the publicity.

30. "Grandchildfuckers" would be a more accurate euphemism, IMHO.
Actually, not a euphemism so much as an accurate and fact-based description.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Fred Phelps is buggering those children.

He is- y'all know he is.

Have these people been physically confronted? Confronted as in ass-whipping style.

9. They've had groups of bikers as a buffer zone at a soldier's funeral.
I think the bikers were Vietnam vets and were revving their engines to drown out the Westboro picketers.

Maybe we should send out Michael Moore again to confront Fred?

When I read something like this, about the atrocities perpetrated in Jesus' name, I just think: Jesus wept.

FBI Complaint

On 21 March 2007, Seattle attorney Dave Coffman filed a complaint with the FBI asking them to investigate whether or not Pastor Hutcherson violated federal law by claiming to be a White House "Special Envoy" on a recent trip to Latvia. Hutcherson claims his work and trip were sanctioned by the Bush White House. The trip was the centerepiece of a four-day anti-gay "crisis conference" held in Latvia.

Hutcherson claims that the director of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives Jay Hein appointed him as a "special envoy" for the Latvia trip, where he appeared with Scott Lively, an opponent of gay civil rights and alleged Holocaust denier who claims that, despite being targeted themselves, homosexuals were the cause of the Holocaust.

High Level Right-Wing Support for Lively's "The Pink Swastika" now in it's 4th edition--a complete anti-academic, ahistorical hachet job.

http://www.abidingtruth.com/pfrc/books/pinkswastika/html/the_pinkswastika_4th_edition_-_final.htm

I'd take Phelps over this Hutcherson and Lively any day of the week.

54. Oh' ok. You must only know about post 2003 Phelps then
Here is a photo I took of the Clan during a gay pride parade in Kansas City in 1993. That's him in the white hat. The woman standing next to him is one of his daughters. I moved in closer for another shot, but she pulled a mace can out and pointed it at me.

Later, there was a scuffle between them and some gay celebrators, and that mace can did get used. They are vile people.

Ever since AIDS started ravaging the country, he and his inbred family have picketed the funerals of countless AIDS victims throughout the 80s and 90s.

Some famous ones were Randy Schilts, author of And the Band Played On and Conduct Unbecoming. He also picketed Matthew Sheppard's funeral in 1998.

He only started picketing the funerals of fallen soldiers after Bush's illegal invasion. Unfortunately, that's when the mainstream media really took notice. See, it's apparently fine and not newsworthy for there to be Matt in Hell signs at a queer's funeral, but heaven forbid they picket one of Bush's brave victims for political capital.

Anyhow, hope that gives insight. This fucker has been around many years, and Kansas City (the gayest town near Topeka) knows him all too well.:hi:
