economy and rebates - or tying Dems up in knots
bush's proposal to hand out checks is just a rerun of what he did back in 2001. didn't work well then to boost the economy, won't work well now. it's a short term bandaid, not a long term fix

When it passes congress, (notice I said WHEN and not IF - I'll explain further down in the post) and bush signs it - it's then up to the treasury to cut/mail the checks. Blatherhead speculation estimates the checks will hit people's mailboxes sometime in october - and I agree...

we know the rebate-bribe has little/no effect in the long term - so why waste time doing a quick fix as opposed to a long-term solution. well - it's a (s)election year.

if any dem stands up and says this is bushit - I'm voting against it - he/she will be tarred and feathered as not supporting the people. Ads will run saying "HE/SHE voted against helping your family"

the details of the rebate-bribe scheme may change but it's a sure bet that it's a done deal.

1. I thought Rachael Maddow had a good solution for this.

and I'd put the Christian biblical twist on it...

"Give a man a fish and you have fed him for one day, teach a man to fish and you have fed him for a lifetime"

She proposed that the tax rebate for hard pressed lower income working Americans be coupled with a infrastructure improvement bill that would put Americans back to work rebuilding bridges, canals, levies, water and sewer systems, etc.

A new version of the 1930's era CCC and WPA and all the rest of the "alphabet agencies" that FDR created.

2. Deadly Rachel!
The single most intelligent entity in the Half-Vast Wasteland of Terrorvision. Obviously some superhuman life form as well, for she manages to find amusement among the entrails.

The glaring fact that Maddow does not anchor a major evening newscast is all the proof you need that the Murkin Whore Media adores its role of lapdog.

3. Yeah, but she is all over MSNBC these days...

and is looking both smart and "nice" (no, she hasn't done the Greta Van Sustern makeover yet, but she occasionally wears makeup!)... it's just a matter of time before KO (who runs MSNBC now, dontcha know!) gives her a show (what happened to Tucker's POS? Is that slot open? How about getting rid of morning Joe! Well, anyway, she is much smarter than anyone else at the place, except for KO who keeps right up with her. KO is so good that he picks up on every obscure reference that his guests can drop on him (did one last night that I had to google... and can't remember now). Scary smart. The both of them.

Ben Stein smart (how Ben, who is obviously a very bright guy, can hold onto his political beliefs is simply beyond me).
