When he asked to remove his statement, the Republican said something about a personal accusation.

And Kucinich looked really pissed and withdrawn.......:hi:

Maybe it happened yesterday? I usually watch the house proceedings between seven and eight until Amy is on at 8 a.m. here.

P.S. And if anybody's wondering, this post is *NOT* a
slam at either of those two gentlemen, just a recognition
of the sad fact that the Democratic Party no longer hews
to democratic ideals in the same way these two good guys
do.

There are rules for the way people talk in the House. Personal accusations are not permitted. Could it be something along those lines?

It isn't hard to slam someone on the floor of the House, so long as you call the person The Distinguished Representative and then rip to shit their POLICIES or proposed BILLS or VOTING record...not the person, themself. IOW, you can't say, 'The Distinguished Representative from East Jesus is a stupid nitwit,' but you can say 'This proposed legislation put forth by the Distinguished Gentleman from East Jesus is idiotic.'

Serioulsy, watch that old movie, "The Day The Earth Stood Still" where the alien (who was abducted from Earth) came down with that big silver robot said as much if we kept messing around with "new kle ur" weapons. Too bad ole Chimp wasn't abducted.

Dennis Kucinich got up and made his 1-minute speech. He started out by quoting the report that came out this morning saying how they lied to get us into the Iraq war, and how that was an impeachable offense. He said the pResident was giving the State of the Union Message on January 28. Kucinich said that we already know what the state of the union is. So on January 28, he was introducing his resolution of impeachment of Bush*. Kucinich said that if impeachment is off the table, then the truth is off the table. He quoted a passage in the bible about how "The truth will set you free." I don't recall what he said after that that offended that Republican so much. I didn't even hear the objection, but I noticed that Kucinich didn't leave the floor right away.

Then I heard Dennis come to the floor and say he was rescinding that personal remark. The Republican said OK and that he was withdrawing his objection.

I think the Kooch simply said something like "Bush lied". Whatever he said, it was no shock to me.

Any Rep. or Senator who will not acknowledge this is lying to America as well.
