We spend so much time on Tweety & MSNBC: Another reminder about the ratings
Since many decry any mention of the NY Post and "gossip" columnists, I'll try to find the original source they're quoting.

Sliding Backward

MSNBC calls itself "the place for politics" - but so far, the political season isn't being very kind to the news channel's daytime ratings. The Inside Cable News blog reports CNN's long-ignored Headline News Network topped MSNBC the last two months in a row during head-to-head "dayside" news coverage, reversing a trend that had seen MSNBC (which is run by NBC News) gaining ground. Of course, Fox News Channel's numbers clobber both CNN's and MSNBC's.

1. why do they show Hardball
at 5 and 7 PM? That's bad programing and in between is Tucker-he is horrible-those two slots should be occupied by David Schuster and Rachel Maddow

Defending Chris Matthews?
Marketwatch’s Jon Friedman defends Chris Matthews, sort of, and then critcizes him, sort of…

It all started when Matthews said of Sen. Hillary Clinton: “The reason she’s a U.S. senator, the reason she’s a candidate for president, the reason she may be a front-runner, is her husband messed around.”

Was Matthews’ statement brash? Yes. Thoughtless? Sure. Dumb? You betcha.

But Matthews’ job is to deliver his opinions, regardless of whether they happen to be pithy, illuminating or, in this case, foolish. I expect a lot from Matthews. I’ve praised him in this space, too. See related column.
