Why there are actually two major parties, Democratic and Repiglican
Edited on Wed Jan-23-08 01:00 PM by burythehatchet
I know lots of Democrats and they definitely do not consider themselves as being the in the same political realm as Repiglicans. And vice versa.

No, they are not one in the same party. However, the Democratic party leadership, which has been vested with the authority of the (Democratic) voters has decidedly lurched to the DLC's idea of the "middle way". This is a position that neglects the interests of the party's historical constituency, primarily labor and the working class. It is similar to the Repiglican party in that the puppeteers who control the Republicans have effectively managed to buy the Democratic leadership.

In essence, both parties now dance to the corporate anthem. The Repiglicans remain true to their constituents (for the most part), but the Democrats are no longer true to their constituents.

So the two are not the same party, but they are controlled by the same interests. Until a party emerges that can honestly defend the weakest among us we will continue to attack those elements within the party that have abandoned us.

I am amazed that there is no real analysis of the fact that Mark Penn represents the US Chamber of Commerce, an organization that is committed to destroying the populist message, is Hillary's pollster.

1. DemocratIC... Do not leave out the "-ic"
The DemocRAT memo was started by the Pugs... They emphasized the "RAT" part because they are the classier choice if not the classist choice...

3. Many Dems were outraged
When Emanuel and Durbin recruited Republicans to run as Democrats. That is not "middle of the road". They refused to support anti-war candidates in Illinois and even refused funding. They made sure they supported the same ole war mongers in our state when the Dems wanted different.

Then they announced after the primary that the Dem candidates supported across the board amnesty. That was a sure way to lose an election.

Democrats won some races because the Rebublican candidates were worse. We should have won more seats in the end.
