I remember everyone even lame geting one (were just dating then). I guess being a single working class mom with a disabled child at home did not qualify. I still think bush read my e-mails or maybe he did'nt like the tone of my letters to him regarding health care and tax cuts to the wealthy.

79. I'm single so I probably won't get anything.
You know - no kids, no spouse - I don't really count according to this government.

92. Isn't that a fact
I'm so sick of the built-in penalties in this society for being single. It's not just the government. It's other people and employers, too.

How many times have I had to work on holidays and had people say to me, "Well, it's okay for you to work on the holiday because you don't have a family." What? I do too have a family - it's just not the same type as yours. And if I didn't have a family, how would that mean I didn't deserve a holiday off?

I used to work for a company that frequently had to transfer people to other cities. It is a pain to transfer to another city when you are single - no one to help you make arrangements, help you pack your household, keep you company in the strange new place, no one to wait for the cable guy while you go to work, etc. etc. And yet, the line was always, "Well it's easier for you to transfer, you don't have a family." So, because I'm single I somehow deserve to have my life turned upside down? Repeatedly?

And of course there is always the matter of taxes. They talk about a marriage penalty, but we've always had to pay more.

101. Oh, it's disgusting.
Especially when I see so many people who are married and shouldn't be and/or have children and shouldn't. And I'm the "irresponsible" one??!?

81. Beers and hookers...
Or, I could be sensible and invest it somewhere safe so that it will earn some interest until the gov'mint asks for it back.

84. I will be sending it back to the IRA since it is only a loan
against your tax refund from next year. I do not ever receive a tax refund. I always have to pay, so I don't want to pay taxes, plus repay the rebate.

90. never a problem in finding something to spend money on
beings as we're new grandparents and with our house remodel on our hands. But beings as it probably will only be a loan on next years taxes, ie the last one, you can bet it will be spent as if it was money we borrowed and paying interest on, nothing else.

91. Gas
I think lord pissypants was in the ME to assure his friends there that the 5% drop in gasoline retailer sales would be made up. By giving working people cash his pupeteers know they will use that money for their most immediate need. Gas.

I'll probably use it to pay part of last year's taxes. I guess the rest I'll have to get from my ever-dwindling IRA.

The Food Stamp increase would have helped me more, to be honest. There are no taxes with Food Stamp purchases.
