Study: False statements preceded war
Edited on Wed Jan-23-08 06:30 PM by Texas Explorer

A study by two nonprofit journalism organizations found that President Bush and top administration officials issued hundreds of false statements about the national security threat from Iraq in the two years following the 2001 terrorist attacks.

The study concluded that the statements "were part of an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanized public opinion and, in the process, led the nation to war under decidedly false pretenses."

The study was posted Tuesday on the Web site of the Center for Public Integrity, which worked with the Fund for Independence in Journalism.

White House spokesman Scott Stanzel did not comment on the merits of the study Tuesday night but reiterated the administration's position that the world community viewed Iraq's leader, Saddam Hussein, as a threat.

Seems kinda fitting on this day when Dennis Kucinich calls it for what it is - LIES. He was forced to retract his comments and have them stricken from the record. But that will not change the fact that Bush administration lies and treason have led this country to where it is today.

935 lies. How many dead? *Walks away shaking head in profound disappointment and shame*...

1. DOH! - "False statements preceded war "
.
.
.

The rest of the world already knows this.

It's the Murikkkan Sheeples that'd rather watch Homer Simpson than what their Government is doing around the globe.

(Sorry Homer, I like your shows!)

People of a country, ESPECIALLY in a country that considers itself Democratic, can't blame their governments for everything that ails them.

They elected them!

And if they figure the election was rigged - DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!

I'm not talking about walking around with signs denigrating politicians - politicians have a hard skin - they brush it off.

How about

HALF THE WORK FORCE TAKES A DAY OFF!

EVERY WEEK

Until the legislators pay attention

UMPH - No way

Can't do that

wouldn't be able to afford my 6-pack and Burger for Friday nite football -

Ya know what I mean

You have to give up something to fight these thugs in office

OR

Live with whatever they decide to give you

(Like no Health Care)

Whew!

End of rant
