Who will send them back because you don't believe in them?

2. So, is this the same kind of deal as last time? Where it isn't REALLY
a rebate, but a loan against future tax refunds? Anyone know?

7. No, I don't have one. I was just asking.
If it's another "loan", I really don't want it. It'll only screw next years' taxes up.

And a lot of people don't GET $800 back in taxes, so if it is a loan, that means they will keep owing until it's paid off.

8. And I'm just asking, and if it isn't , It means you are making unfounded assumptions.
Please someone give me some factual response instead of baseless guessing.

14. Easy there, tiger.
It seemed as if you were doubting SG's statement about the 2001 refund/rebate, so I provided links as a basis.

You can Google as well as the rest of us.

16. Yes, I did.
Why is that a problem for you?

Besides, one of the articles was from 2008.

5. The $800 "refund" for the illegal war?
Edited on Thu Jan-24-08 02:36 AM by TWriterD
Mine would be deposited to one of my accounts, just like the last one. (How much more cheap shit from China do Americans really need?) Hmm, perhaps cashing it and hiding the money under my mattress is a better idea...

17. ...hmmm...
Could I ask the govt to just deposit that amount as a payment on the Student Loan I am defaulted on? Since I can;t feed my family or pay rent this month, I guess the transfer of an ethereal $600 wouldn't make much difference!

...and BTW, if you want a really good investment idea, try a coffee can and a shovel! lol

19. I will return my check because it is a loan on your tax return.
I never get any tax refund. Every year, I have to pay or I just about break even.

20. I'm afraid if I sent it back, it wouldn't be properly credited...
and then I'll have to deduct it from my '08 refund anyway.

Our esteemed news industry hasn't let us know yet if this "rebate" is the same as the last one. (i.e. phony)

or other place you wish the govt were supporting.

22. I'll Donate Mine To Democratic Candidates
I did the same thing in '02. $800 could go to help a bunch of future Democratic Congresscritters.

Just do the math...$800 a year = $66.66 a month = $16 a week. Now how much of that $16 will do into your gas tank? Heat your home? Buy groceries?

$16 a week...now don't spend it all in one place.

:sarcasm:
