Duncan Hunter just tossed a grenade into FReeperland

Hunter, their only "true" conservative presidential candidate (now ex-) is endorsing Mike Huckabee. They have a thread going over there that's just shy of 1,700 posts. Either they're screaming "WTF? I want my money back Duncan", "Hunters conservative credibility just evaporated", and so on.

So just keep this in mind; no matter how bad the Obama-Clinton squabbling gets here, it pales in comparison to the absolute disarray that the GOP is in right now.

5. With the enonomy tanking any chance the republicans

might have had to win this year's election has evaporated. I think a couple of their candidates have just realized that all of their efforts and money are going for nothing, as none of them are going to win the election. In addition, the real estate fiasco itself would spell doom for their party.

Duncan Hunter endorses Huckabee. You'd have thought that a Southern Baptist minister would have been right up their alley (no need to wonder about his anti-choice, anti-gay position), but they consider Huck to be too "liberal" in his thinking on trade and taxes. I hope the ones who keep saying they are going to sit this one out keep their word.

Now they don't know where to go. It's interesting to see the degree to which McCain is simply out of the question for them (as is the Huckster). I guess they'll go with Willard as the last man standing.
