This Tax Rebate thing
I think that this Tax Rebate thing, and the subsequent call for Americans to use it to buy locally produced goods, is another way of saying that the US is going to subsidise its locally manufactured products to the amount declared, is 150,000,000,000 $. I am not an economist but I think that this is againest WTO regulations. I think that the WHOLE world should take the incumbent US administration to the WTO.

2. Where might I locate some 'locally produced goods'? The farmers' market is closed here
for the winter and I know of nothing else manufactured locally.

Edited on Thu Jan-24-08 11:49 AM by NYCALIZ
last time they pulled this I donated the money to the Democrats.
This time I'm holding on to the money or paying bills.
But I sure as hell am not going shopping with it if I get it

8. Welcome to DU!
:hi:

I could buy a Moody airplane or some Avery jewelry. By the time this money comes around our garden will be producing as are the chickens now. I guess we could go out to eat at a locally owned restaurant.

As to your WTO concerns, I'd ask, "When does * ever consider what the world wants?"
