About that economic stimulus package...

OK, maybe this is utterly simplistic, but if we want to stimulate the economy, wouldn't it make sense to leave Iraq and stop funding Halliburton and the cronies?

And what does giving people $300 do to the debt?

I never took economics, but geez - if I don't have money, I'm not about to go out and charge something on a credit card to make me feel better.

Help me out here, you smart people of DU!

1. They want to do it as soon as possible - in May.

Funny, when they want to eliminate any taxes on the hundreds of trillions of dollars going to the top 1% they get it done in days or weeks - at most. When they want to give the middle class and the poor a loan to buy an extra cup of coffee each day it takes 3 months.

... And next year (or, sneekill the year after that) will have to pay it all back. They should come clean and tell us the specifics, We are being scammed AGAIN!!!!

Actually, a well timed stimulus package like this can work if timing is correct. It still has to be paid back, which means Bush continues to mortgage our kids future.
