WASHINGTON (Jan. 24) - A man has been indicted on federal charges for allegedly displaying hangman's nooses from the back of a pickup truck during a civil rights march last year in Jena, La.

Jeremiah Munsen, 18, of Grant Parish, repeatedly drove slowly past a group of marchers gathered at a bus depot in Alexandria, which is near Jena, as they awaited buses to return them to Tennessee, federal authorities said Thursday.

Good. It's about time we start cracking down on this racist, 19th century bullshit.

2. I actually feel badly for this kid- not that he is being charged, but rather...
... that he was raised by such horrible people. He never had a chance and will probably spend his life in and out of jail, if he lives very long.

It's truly sad to see such a young man, brainwashed into hating other because they have different ancestors.

4. It's always a tough balance: one sympathizes w/the kid who is raised to be that way
Yet, there's that kid, grown, acting in monstrous ways of his or her own accord, beliefs, etc

5. There generally isn't alot of free thought going on in those homes.

That usually comes once they leave the nest and aren't constantly under the pressure of a family like that.

17-18 is not grown, we all know that. At that age you are usually still a product of your environment.

This kid never had a chance, from the moment his mother gave birth to him.

I personally think extreme racist homes should have the children removed. I mean the ones who actively teach aggressive and violent hatred. It is a form of child abuse.

6. True. And people's mindset is usually quite fixed by 18, and unlikely to change
