Edwards is pulling 20% in the Democratic primaries and about half the country is Democrats well 50% identify themselves as such

that means that 10% of the public approves of Edwards

now if 32% approve of Bush that means

according to my figuring

we are fucked.

10% of the public is aware enough of Edwards and passionate enough about his message to turn out and vote for him in the Democratic primary. That's a VERY different measure from a presidential approval rating.

Yes. Yes, we are fucked, but...

also, keep in mind that less than 50% of eligible voters actually bother to vote. Any new voters this time around are more likely to be voting for Obama cause he makes them "feel good."

So, according to my calculations:

We are fucked much worse than you originally thought and our chances of ever putting this country back together again are nil, nada, zero, finito, kaput, 0%

and

This country has a 100% chance of never being right again.

So, it's not so much that we are just fucked, but we are COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY 100% fucked.

I guess in reality it means Edwards die-hards are probably out of luck. But, people who prayed every night for Gore to run are even more fucked, at a far greater probability. Like 99.999 to 1.

So, your favorite horse is last in the pack. Bet on a different one, and you'll be less "fucked".
