Early Exit Polls: Seniors and Hispanics Strong For McCain

Exit polls of Florida voters in Tuesday’s Republican
presidential primary are finding some strong numbers
for John McCain from two key groups in the state —
senior citizens and Hispanics.

But another demographic McCain was counting on —
military voters — are actually splitting their vote
between McCain and Mitt Romney. Romney is also
leading strongly among voters who say that immigration
was their most important issue heading into the
polls today.

According to early exit poll numbers, 40 percent of
seniors — over 60 voters — went went with McCain
tonight, 31 percent went with Romney, while former
New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani got 18 percent of
the voters surveyed and 7 percent went with former
Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

Hispanic GOP voters were going 50 percent for McCain,
26 percent for Giuliani
