Do you think TPTB in this country want a military draft?

I know, this would make any politician VERY unpopular, but aside from that, do you think they WANT it?

And if so, how do you think they would try to implement it?

2. TPTB want a volunteer military as the "employer of last resort".

And if the economy crashes, there'll be no shortage of "volunteers"
as cannon fodder.

3. One problem with a "for hire" military is that it tends not to be

terribly loyal. Once the purpose for enlistment becomes money and nothing more, the realization that more money can be made elsewhere is not far behind. If gang members, skin-heads, and high school drop-outs are the best the military can recruit, then a new paradigm needs to be developed. Maybe some kind of "partial draft" or "semi-voluntary" army. How about a "debtors" Army - everyone who can't make their payments have to go into the Army. "We don't just foreclose on your house, we slap your ass into the Army!" "Barrow all that you can be!" The Army could even start producing credit-cards itself! Cut out the middle man!
