16. During the break, the call-in period
It seemed to me that pretty much every call (cept the last bonehead one -- Texan defends using torture because he was in WWII and he saw/participated in(?) torture in the South Pacific, and said it was necessary -- fucker!) anyway, whether caller from dem/repub/indy line, they were all disgusted by today's hearing! I was surprised. Just highlighted to me how people who watch cspan, and are actually aware of what is happening, as opposed to what fox/msnbc/cnn tells them, realize what a disaster this all is. That, at least, gave me a little bit of hope. Not much, but a little.

But the easiest way to imagine what is happening, is to remember Gonzalez testifying, and just cut Mukasey's face and paste it on and you'll have today's hearing.

He is NO DIFFERENT from Gonzo, and DAMN those dems who confirmed him thinking he would be!!!

Only Bush could "authorize" certain conduct, so guess where all this leads.

Since Bush is the culpable dude, his AG has to now accept up as down = waterboarding cannot be a crime if Bush did it.

One of the scandalous aspects of the McNulty memo is that people like Carol Lam could no longer make their own calls on initiating corporate fraud prosecutions. McNulty moved that authority to his own desk only, disabling ALL USAs in the nation from bring cases against Bush buddies.

Maybe he has a dog we can impeach? Maybe that would be easier and won't cost anyone votes or make them look weak on terror (barf) Can we at least take that much of a stand against war crimes?

104. Why are CEOs exempt from prosecution in corporate fraud cases? Where does immunity come from?
Edited on Wed Jan-30-08 02:52 PM by L. Coyote
Good questions. Well, Arlen, the CEOs are friends of Bush ... and the ones claiming Executive privilege are friends of Bush too!

Send the RNC $10,000 and you can be a friend of Bush too.
