Here's why it sucks to still have a W'04 sticker on your car....
My brother-in-law, who works for the California Highway Patrol said he was pacing two cars speeding, one had a W04 sticker...the other one did not.

Guess which one he stopped?

lol

So all of you lurkers from the other websites, if you wanna drive fast in Southern California, better scrape all of those crappy stickers off of your vehicles.

Because when all things are equal....

Sucks to be a Republican.

hahaha

3. No different from what any cop uses as a pretext to stop someone
Could be the color of the driver, or an imaginary tail-light out. I don't have a lot of respect for that type of treatment anyway.

8. I agree
I used to be friends with a cop. A bit after New Year’s 2000 he was telling me about his time manning the barricades around Times Square.

A guy in a suit and top coat came up to him, completely sober, and asked if he knew where he could find a restroom. My friend the cop replied that there were port-o-johns about a block behind him (the cop). But that the guy would have to go up a few blocks as he couldn’t cross the barricades.

In a joking tone, the guy in the suit asked if the cop could look the other way so he could slip through and use the john.

Keep in mind, my buddy the cop is telling me this story, so all the impressions I have of the event are from him. Up until this point, the well dressed and sober guy has done nothing wrong and they have been having a polite discourse.

When the guy asks if could slip by, the cop responds, ‘not unless you want me to crack you head open with my night stick and throw you in the back of the van.’

The guy looks at him for a couple of seconds, mutters ‘tough guy…’ and turns to walk away.

At this point while telling me the story, the cop starts to chuckle, he says, ‘so I grabbed him, pulled him over the barricade, cuffed him and duck walked him off to the van. The whole time the guy was asking, ‘what did I do, what did I do?’ and going on about how he was from Chicago visiting some friends.’

My friend the cop kept chuckling and couldn’t fathom my incredulity.

I asked him why he picked on the guy as he was clearly not a threat and walking away, his answer was that a night in jail would teach him not to disrespect cops. He gave the guy a ticket for failure to refuse a lawful order, zipped him up in plastic cuffs and threw him in the back of the van.

Poor guy, needed to pee, cuffed in the back of the police van, taken from his friends while visiting NYC, because a cop chose to take offense to an innocuous act of self expression.

To put things into perspective, cops using political expression to color their decision to pursue one speeder over another can easily be applied to either party affiliation. Besides, let’s say that one speeder was 10 over the limit and one was 15 over the limit, do you really think a cop that would take political identity into consideration would have a problem going after the speeder with the offending decal, regardless of whether or not they were the one going faster?

5. It has been the other way around too many times
I would not even consider putting any democratic message around here. Some of the local cops are very conservative and have no problem giving "liberal commies" a hard time.

6. I'm sure that my DemocraticUnderground sticker contributed to a b.s. stop
but it was worth it. Anyway, the cop had to let me go when he could find absolutely nothing to charge me with, other than driving white in a black part of town with a DU sticker on my car. Sucked to be him. I think the dispatcher chewed him out for wasting her time, too.

7. Personally, I think it's a legitimate reason to stop someone
After all, that person could be too stupid to be driving, and thus a public menace.

sure that's a broad statement, abuse their power.

Just like your brother.

Fuck anyone that pulls over a car for a "bumper sticker"!

Left or Right, right or wrong, it's simply is BS.

The police state of the United States is corrupt.

p.s. "Let's pull over this Harley, sure this "Biker Freak"
has some weed, if not, we'll just harass him, on the side of
the road.......in front of his neighbors. (my story)

p.s.s Sure glad I just do the shrooms these days
