Thirty Nine Point Five Billion Dollars
In PROFITS

For Exxon Mobil

Thirty nine point five billion

That's over $1287 per MINUTE

http://money.cnn.com/2007/02/01/news/companies/exxonmobil/index.htm

Oil bidniss

Run by oilmen

Like our country

Oilmen

Raping the populace to make the rich richer.

So ....... how's your healthcare?

Are your kids enjoying that government money given to schools for enrichment of children through the arts?

Hey, how about those veterans' benefits?

Good thing all our bridges are in good shape, huh?

Don't EVEN try to tell me that sort of OBSCENE fucking profit ought not be taxed. Don't EVEN try to tell me that.

How much of that will go to politicians to support Exxon's will?

I bet its less than 1/100 of 1%. Even oiltoadies can be bought dirt fucking (relatively) cheap.

Thirty nine billion, five hundred million dollars.

Incredible.

1. That is not profit: that is a wealth extraction system,
taking money from us and moving up the chain.

4. Not all that high a rate
No more than Microsoft, Johnson and Johnson or Intel. They just have so muck more capital at work that their 17% return looks like alot more than some others.

5. I contract with the gubmint from time to time
They limit my profit to 10%. And sometimes they limit it to 5%. My profits are measured in scores of dollars, not billions.

I can't find it in my heart to weep for Exxon.

6. Why should we blame Exxon?
Afterall, it is the people's appetite for oil that is driving up demand, which, in turn, drives up the price, which, in turn, drives up the profits. Your anger is misdirected.

10. Because Bush is giving them mafia-style protection with our military
for free. If they had to pay to secure oil fields like European companies, their profits would be remarkable different.

11. Actually profit margins are remarkably similar
between american and european oil companies (around 10%). Compare Exxon w/ Royal Dutch Shell and you'll see.
