House caves to Left Wing Bloggers-White House Press Sec.
To anyone here who thinks we have no impact read this, Miss Waverly

After the Senate banned waterboarding yesterday, White House Press Secretary Dana Perino claimed the “left wing” was trying to overtake the intelligence community:

They’ll have to ask themselves, ‘Do you trust the intelligence community more than you trust Democrats who are beholden to their left-wing?‘ And that’s the debate that this country is going to have.

Perino also attacked Congress for holding a contempt of Congress vote on White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten and former White House counsel Harriet Miers instead of expanding Bush’s surveillance powers:

The American people will find it baffling that on a day that House leaders are trying to put off passing critical legislation to keep us safer from the threat of foreign terrorists overseas, they are spending scarce time to become the first congress in history to bring contempt charges against a president’s chief of staff and lawyer. … The ‘people’s House’ should reflect the priorities of the American people, not the fantasies of left-wing bloggers.

1. It's true. We bloggers run the world and it's about time the White House
got the message.

3. Ha, Ha, I think it's the bloggers are scaring people
Not only do we have our opinions, we are committed to change and will contribute and campaign for those we want in office. We are
having an impact, the stone has just moved a little, keep pushing.

5. Hi, MissWaverly Yes. We've been a shove toward political
reform and have helped keep at least a few politicians honest.

No small task, that!

6. also Al Wynn, Maryland 4th is out and Donna Edwards is in
we are quite capable of getting together to instigate change, where was Jim Webb, Obama, Donna Edwards and many others before we
said we didn't like the choices and could we please have someone else. Do we win every time, no, but we are winning.

9. Yes. I was thrilled with Donna Edwards' win over Wynn. She's a winner and
Wynn's a loser.

We've got some serious cyber-mojo to jingle and I think November is going to be a real good month for Democrats.

10. I was also thrilled with Edwards win
I remember when I gave to Jim Webb and was told that he had no chance of winning, I like the term "cyber-mojo"

:-)

2. I'll feel much better the day I truly believe that the Democrats
are beholden to the left-wing. Meanwhile, Perino can spew whatever crap she wants to. Simulated asphyxiation otherwise known as waterboarding is torture and should be banned. What is there that they(the neocons) do not understand?

4. they will be beholden when they realize the people are awake
and watching what is done to this country in our name, as long as we slumbered, they could party with the lobbyists and forgot, the
"We" in We the People, now we are awake and they are scared.

But they made it worse, now there is a crescendo of criticism, free speech is once again free thanks to the internet and the netroots.

12. There were, and still are, concerted efforts to regulate access to the internet.
We have won some great battles. There will be many more that again will unite us against these crooks and liars. The internet is the life blood of democracy and free speech these days.

when we see a bill come up that needs addressed; we need to immediately let our reps know what we feel, it's easy to surrender
to the beltway mentality so we need to remind them that they speak for us not the telecoms.

uses torture. Pakistan or Saudi Arabia might be a nice alternative place for you to live and be more in sync with your rational.

14. it's interesting if you look at how they operate
Other presidents like Truman would tell America exactly why we needed to do something, how we were going to do, & that he was going
before Congress to get them behind him and what it would cost the American people. Now we have an administration that asks
Who are You going to Trust, it's almost like the Ghostbusters, who are you going to call???? There is no solid evidence presented,
just personalities, he's such an honest, hardworking guy, why wouldn't you trust Michael Hayden with all this spy stuff.

that has always distrusted government. I wonder if they will be so trustful when we take over. Will they still support FISA then?

25. And They Are Obviously Too Stupid To Look Ahead
They are still granting powers they will come to regret in less than a year. In fact, my one saving grace if Hillary wins, is that she is most likely to use the power against them.

23. Is she talking about the US or Saddam Hussein's dictatorship?
Torture is a required counterterrorism tool. The Executive Branch should not be held accountable for their conduct. Basically the Executive Branch is above the law.

Interesting point since Bush said Saddam was a dictator
and we were going there to liberate the Iraqis from his brutal ways like imprisoning people on a whim and torturing innocent people.

18. They sure mainstreamed the paranoid aspect of the John Birch worldview.
Probably because fear is such a "necessary" political tool for them, a cloak, hiding the unspeakable and true motives for war, greed and profit.

19. Of course, and fear as a coercive tool as well
the majority of the money has been diverted from the common good to their toadies, their private mercenaries, their corporate suck
ups, their GOP intertwined non-profit fundie organizations. How did they do this w/o the consent of the governed? Fear

17. She is advocating for fascism
According to Perino, anything short of overt fascism=fringe left wing.

Americans should ask themselves why they are being told that supporting fascism is patriotic.

It is pathetic for the White House to resort to fearmongering in order to excuse criminal actions by White House officials.

24. You mean like the left-wingers that wrote this:

Amendment 4 - Search and Seizure

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Maybe someone should have told those left wing bloggers to reflect the real priorities of the American people, instead of pushing their wacko extremist agenda

All men are created equal, no taxation without representation, trial by jury, government of 3 co-equal branches, a president who
must carry out the law.
